even though there is sadly no new screenshots or footage, ign published the need for speed prostreet hands-on: http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/804/804468p1.html
doesn't show much.

but i did strangely find a need for speed prostreet: collectors edition. source:
http://search.ign.com/products?qtype=0& ... &x=40&y=13

for 360, pc, ps2, and ps3.

Nice find man. But I noticed that EA kept the digital tachometer. I was hoping for the old analog one back. I most say though the graphics are sweet. :D

I noticed that as well. Hopefully when you fully upgrade it, it will sound better.

it should sound better .. in Carbon most of the cars shared the same sound @ the max tune lvl. baaad for the Skyline :(

LE: why is the new M3 in the demo?! wtf?! anyway .. i just hope that the M3 won't be in the "begginer" classes or tier 1 like Carbon car classes were divided. The trailer is awesome, the smoke effect is   ... the damage is very REAL .. and I think we're gonna have a lot of trouble with the AI, if they will hit us from behind, just like the player did to them .. we'll spend a hell lot of money on the repairs. There's something odd with the camera ... or the way the car moves when you steer .. or it's just me ... nice trailer

What do you mean why is the M3 in the demo? Maybe to showcase the car since it's so popular?

Anyways, I like the sense of speed and I like how the cars have a certain heaviness to them. It looks like controlling the RX-7 is much harder than in previous games which is good. Personally, I like the damage physics but I don't like the damage system. It seems like EA divided the damage into stages like Light Damage, possibly Medium Damage, Heavy Damage and Totalled. I don't want that, I want a percentage or a line graph like in High Stakes showing me how much I damaged the car.

Other than that, it looks like a good game...maybe finally a game worthy of the NFS nameplate?

and its not too impressive...

damage@ProStreet = Autosculpt@Carbon ---> A brand new feature, but poorly developed. Next years they will improve it, in order to have something attractive for buyers.

It's all about marketing, we will never get a perfect game. They can, but don't want to ;)

of course we wont, the minute they give us "the perfect NFS" they cant improve anything so they'll have to end the series.
once they end the series -> no more money

Looking at the Gamespot Interview, it seems the damage system is a lot more disappointing than I thought. There is Light Damage, Heavy Damage, and Totalled. It also seems as if only the aftermarket parts are damageable. Like, if you look at the actual car frame, it stays intact when the guy flips. Only skirts, spoilers, hoods, and trunks can actual get damaged, which is really disappointing after we saw that CGI teaser in which the RX-7 gets totally deformed with wheels flying off and parts flying everywhere...sigh...my expectations just dropped a little more...

The various levels of damage disappoint.. Who the hell cares about light, heavy, whatever? I want to wreck my car step by step, and I don't want the game to ruin my wrecking experience by some ''TOTALLED'' thing that immediately ends my race.

The car stays fairly intact. I expected chassis warping and wheels flying off. :|

Ok let's think this: What happens if there's FULL damage and not by "phases"? At the first crash you will have, you'll be complaining :"Damn EA.." and so on. If there's full damage at the first crash, all the "newbies" will say: "NFS sucks and blablabla..." and there will be no more $ for EA...less "fans"...less money for EA. They're trying to do it easy for the n00bs and newbies who are new to the NFS games, EA never point to the TRUE fan base like us.

BUT, all this can change to a good way for us IF EA creates an option (at this time I doubt it) to allow realistic damage just at the first crash or any accident. Then we can stop complaining about the "light - med and heavy damage thing". I still insist: WE HAVE DAMAGE AT LEAST IN THIS NFS..think of that...maybe not too much developed as you guys say...but it's there.

Xturbo.
