How much should ITALIANS HATE FRENCH????
Just remember the game: Italy played beautifully and at the 4th minute of injury time "someone" scored...and then THIS shiznit GOLDEN GOAL RULE!!!
Well, the golden goal rule isn't France's fault, they just took advantage of it. Football is all about scoring the goals, and the match isn't over until the final whistle... I think I get your point tho, but what Totti did is something completely different...

True, but this is in the off topic discussion, so that doesn't really matter.. :P

And IN the NFS Forum there's a Off Topic discussion with a Euro 2004-thread

Anyways, yes, Totti is (was imo  ) an amazing player (and he knows is)
What he did was very very arrogant though and definitely not something that belongs to a football match :!:

And 3 days? Haha, he gets away with it way too easy. But I'm glad UEFA decided to do something at least.. Unlike the referee that day *tsk* *tsk*

But I'm really looking forward to see Sweden winning against Italy

PS. Don't worry.. I am angry.. But I still love Ferrari

well, T-Shine, tbh, I'd like Russia to win, but it's just not likely with the number of problems they have. Besdies, they only have 3 high quality players who are talented - rest are just too young or playing very slow retro football (good ones are Alenichev, Mostovoi (he's a captain of Celta for something, and Ovchnnikov, or the goalie who got sent away yesterday). And Russia has it's own "Gerard", who plays very well usually, but yesterday he also played great for Portugal.

So that's that. Very sad for me, but didn't expect much from Russia. So now I can RELAX and just cheer for the Czech Rep. and wish them all the best.

I just red the whole article about Totti's mistake...and he Excused himself about the action although the danish player provoked him for the whole match!Totti has never done such mistakes in Serie A...(there's always a 1st time..).Totti's lawiers said also that there was a "Trap Movie" made by the Danish wich recorded the italian player for the Whole 90 MINUTES!!!...This was a "danish trap" presented 2 days later...just the time to analyse the 90minutes movie!

I say it again...Totti made a Big Mistake...but he isn't the only famous champion who mistakes!
Ciao!

PS: Italia-Sweden --> 3 - 1 (Vieri,Vieri,Cassano) :wink:

Totti doesn't deserve to play for Italy imo ... and no Rixan, it isn't the first time. I remember Totti has always been prompt to react on provokations, with small fouls .. with pushes ... with anything really. He's always had that manner/temper, even in Euro 2000. Not to talk about Serie A. As an italian I'm deeply ashamed of the display he's put up for the whole team, banning our immage to the eyes of the other participants. Not only that .. I'm deeply disappointed a character of his proportions hasn't showed pretty much anything during the whole 90 minutes of a match. Utterly disappointed in all ways, by the whole team. Del Piero has never recovered from his early injury in his career, and will never be the phenomenon he was in the beginning ..very sadly, as he's my idol what soccer concerns. Vieri can't see the goal at all (italian way of saying he can't score a goal even if payed in gold for it) and Totti hasn't really done anything .. a good free kick, and a good pass, but nothing worth Totti. Strong defense as usual. But let's not talk about the controls and clearings. Italy can play 300% as good as against Denmark. They never pressed the danes, there were always 3 meters to the nearest .. no wonder the danes ended having 60-40% ball possession. Italy simply LET them play. No off the ball movement in the attack whatsoever ... how do you score goals when playing that way? It seemed they never wanted to play that match. They blame it on the heat I guess ... lame excuse, as the other teams had the same conditions the previous days .. so. Personally I've given up all hopes on Italy passing the first turn.

Well, Summ...I didn't talk about the match ...just because it was horrible!! I agree with you when you talk about Vieri and Del Piero...but not at all with Totti! You know he isn't costant...but he remains one of the best player of the moment!
Ciao!

Yeah ... the match was horrible. Totti IS still a world class player, agreed, but I've never seen Zidane, Figo, Beckham .. just to mention 3 of the most popular ones ... spit other ppl in the face. Anyway, it'd be sweat Rixan, to get into the finals with France again .. but I'm afraid it's just a dream. It's not gonna happen .. not this year. And even if it does .. they'd just slaughter us ;).
Non dimenticarti dei mondiali del 98 ... puniti ai rigori dai francesi .. di nuovo.

England only have to draw with Croatia to go through, now that we have beaten the swiss 3 - 0. Come on England! Roonaldo will lead us all the way, and with Gerrard getting over his crap backpass in the france game , he'll be on top form and playing good.
As for Totti, its pretty discraceful, I mean, he spat in another player's face, that isn't very good. Even if you are Italien, you must be able to admit that he was out of order.

I'd want Russia to win and end the shameless tournament on a good note. Now you respect my opinion, just like I respect yours. :)

ok boys, another italian comes in :D
I think the problem for us is simple...once (many years ago) people played footbal only for one thing...SPORT. today too people play football for only one thing, but now it's changed...MONEY (and for sex, sure  ). In Italy this is the only thing that make players continue play in pro series. We have a very strong team that could win EVERYTHING, but I think for our players is more important the vip attitude than the care to do their best in game. (they only think to how do their hairs!!!). Totti is one of our most important man and does stupid things like a stupid child, Fiore is against Camoranesi because he's not italian but play everytime (in his place he thinks), Zanetti seems dead...and Vieri has missed 6 head goals!!!! 6!!!!
If this isn't enough we have a coach who wait for our first goal and then put in other defensors in the place of our better attacker...with only ONE goal (perhaps he thinks we're in 1974...). I'm very upset, because in every competition of the last years we have our asses broken for some stupid thing (korea-Italy). we can't pray for other to lose or to have a good judge in game....we must do goals, many goals...only in this way we can (could) have some possibility.
I've been too "long" guys, excuse me, but I'm really disappointed, I'm tired to see one of the best nation suffer everytime.
Ciao Summ e Rixan, FORZA AZZURRI comunque (il cuore non cede mai)

hehe, I'm with you on this one Viper. Bad management from Trapattoni. It was ok to sub Gattuso, as he had trouble, but the other two substitutions were both mistakes. Attack is the best defense, there's no way around it. As long as we pressed sweden, there was no match. Once we sat on it and tryed to control, they got us.
As for NL, that game ROCKED!

yeah, for 60 minutes only Italy has played, but it hasn't wanted to keep it up, and I think we've had a bit of good luck in the end cause we sweden had too many chances to win the match.
good game that of NL

hehe, you are upset. Imagine now what I feel when I have to support Russia by default... Last time we did good was in 1988, and that was it. In the 60s we won the championship two times.. But lost the other final to Italy on a coin toss!!! That's classic! :)

Nuff said, eh?

yeah UrQuattro, everyone of us has something he doesn't like in is team or team's history....but I'm still very disappointed, now I only can hope Italy wins the third match and Sweden-Denmark doesn't ends 2-2...not good for me pass the first phase this way...
[btw, I've seen some your car at tuning challenge...I like the most part  ]

hehe, thank VIper ;).

Well, Group A is closed, and like I hoped, and most predicted, Russia beat Greece. Also now we officially hold the recordin European Championships of the fastest goal in tournaments history (108 minutes). Team played good, solid football, not being afraid of Greece. Finally the coach allowed the team to start 2 forwards, and it payed off. *Sigh*. If only they weren't afraid of Spain, they could have taken a point at least.

Too bad about Totti, heard he stormed out of Press Conference. Very ugly for the sport. (don't forget, all these guys are paid enormous amount of money, but forget why they are there - to entertain us.)

Hey!!! all you who wanted Russia to win (me being one of you!!), RUSSIA WON and the score was 2-1. i'm soo prode of Russia that even though they are out of the competition they played great and got the win and they even had a lot of great chances to get more goals, the only thing i'm sorry about is that Portugal and Greece got through (Portugal having won 1-0), and not Portugal and Spain!!!! :( .

(and if you find any mistake PLZ forgive me cuz i'm actualy half Arab, half Russian :!: !! sooo my English is not all that good... lol).

Well done by Russia, no doubt. Too bad about Spain, with them goes one of the best playing teams of this tournament.
I believe the one you're referring to UrQ, is Vieri. He has had a bad relationship to Inter fans and to the press and pretty much to anyone the last 2 years .. lol, and it's topped just today, where he openly insulted the press for being such vultures and taking him apart for playing crap against sweden .. yet again. Vieri used to be the greatest forward in the world, but since Korea he hasn't been himself. This weighed on his goalscoring and therefore on his relations with the rest of the world, which became impatient waiting for him to score. After sweden, it can be read on italian newpapers, that bringing Vieri was a mistake, and that he's superfluos, if not actually dragging us down instead of being a plus for the team. Of course, when you're a world class player, and you hear those things, you tend to get mad. I don't like the way he did this, but I'm on his side. Journalists ARE vultures. They create and totally destroy sportsplayers. Not to talk about politics aso. If nothing happens, they're prepared to sell their mothers to create a little gossip they can blow up to a storm ... whores. (sorry for the outburst again)
