n00b question; about graphics cards

I don't really know alot about computers and I was wondering...

my motherboard has an agp slot for a graphics card, but as all other computers it has quite a few pci slots aswell.
I was wondering if I could get a pci graphics card instead (cause I found a good one for real cheap)

You have to get a new motherboard mate, AGP is basically dead.
