maybe smth like this has been posted before but w/e, i like the game, the handling is cool, drift mode rocks, car list is nice, but some old euros or some more euros would be nice. also, the very most of bodykits available suck. the rim choice, decaling, painting is cool, i like the performance tuning too. its missing a storyline in my opinion. how could they improve the game? well, maybe release the new nfs with the things i listed being fixed and maybe add something cool like day AND night racing, street AND track racing and stuff, theyd make more money because people who wanted free roaming would buy hte game too. oh and, imo the graphics are cool, theyre not uber shiny like in the previous 4 nfs'es, theyre realistic and i like it this way. and one more last thing: why did they remove the car customizing outside the carreer? :\ 8,5/10 from me.

MISSING A STORYLINE!! EXACTLY. BESIDES IF THIS GAME WAS SO GREAT WHY DID IT GET AVERAGE REVIEWS. THIS IS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT, WHY DID THEY HAVE TO COPY THE REST OF THEM? ABOUT LISTENING TO THE PUBLIC, ILL AGREE THEY DO LISTEN BUT SOMETIMES THE PUBLIC ISNT ALWAYS RIGHT.ABOUT CARBON, DARIUS? DUDE CMON..WEAK ENDING. GIVE ME SOMETHING ADRELANINE WHEN I BEAT THE GAME, LIKE MOST WANTED, IT WAS PERFECT.THE BODYKITS? YEAH THEY DO SUCK, REALLY BAD ( THEY DONT EVEN HAVE A GTR HOOD!! ) WHICH IS A MUST FOR ALL M3'S!! ALSO ILL SAY IT AGAIN, IF YOUR INTO THE REAL WORLD NO COPS, NO OPEN ROAM, NO STORY, THEN STICK I MEAN STICK WITH FORZA GRAN TURISMO ETC, ALL THE SAME, THE SAME THING. SHOOT EMAIL ME AND WE WILL HEAD DOWN THE TRACK AND RACE  !!!

No game will ever be perfect. No one review will ever represent all opinions.

Fact is, this NFS contains a lot of the things old fans of the game have been asking for. When I say old fans, I mean fans of the original game idea, pre-Underground. Customization was not a big thing, neither was free roam, nor a story line; the purpose of the game was pure racing. It was a way for people who would never drive high-powered cars to experience something they never will outside of the game universe. Fact is, customization, free roam, or a story mode are not essential to have a good racing game. Now, I know my opinion will be hotly contested by others, but what does that matter? If you don't like the game, simply don't buy it. Once again, no one game will ever appeal to all the tastes out there.

That's just my two cents.

And Hellz Manik, I would advise not posting in all caps. It gives the sense that you're shouting.

I'm glad i got my retail copy for free in a contest, so i haven't lost any money on a bad game like this.

dang! i got this game, its a big improvement

goods-
damage, physics system, graphics (way better compared to the demo), the time of day makes the tracks seem a lot different in different races, carlist, drifting

bads-
wheres the "my cars" and quick race? race days i dont count because you can't customize those cars. you spend a lot of money on upgrades, don't like getting banged up by a.i. when im low on repair markers and cash. i can't find the photomode for ps3, im sure it has one because there are ps3 pictures at the ea website by players!

if give it a 7.5 because i miss greatly the quick races with the customizing cars without having to pay and being able to use every car that is unlocked. other than that, this is a pretty fine game.

THE GAME IS SO HARD ! ! !
bearly at 19% of career and its so hard, I am driving at King mode of assitence, I have got a tier 3 BMW M3 for drag wich is like a rocket , a Toyota Supra for grip races, a GTO and 350Z for drift, and a Porsche Cayman S for Speedchallenge, verry verry cool game; the graphics really make you feel like you are participating on a race weekend, a lot of fun, I like the comentator, he really is giving ya a lot of credit, MAKE SOME NOISE FOR RYAN COOPEEEEERRR ! ! ! , INDEED THIS YEAR EA HAS MADE TRULLY A WORTHY GAME TO CALL NEED FOR SPEED ! ! !

Well, what can I say? I'd say the game is okay, has it's good points but flaws too. I'm getting tired of warming my tyres each time, and sometimes drift is so stupid..

DRIFT: EA has once again failed to set up a decent drift mode. The car is being led by a programmed line, braking is non-existent and car control is pretty much nowhere to be seen. These 3 points are strongly noticeable when drifting in the Tokyo harbour area with sharp corners, circuits are okay to drift. The car always slides off towards the side and slams into the wall. When you try to reduce speed and brake, nothing happens.

GRIP: Handling is overly sensitive, it's either too much or too little. For an example: If you'd steer a little too much to the right in corner to the right and try to correct that by steering to the left, you'd often go off the racing line and smack the wall because it's sensitive in a stupid way.

SPEED: Same sensitive handling.

DRAG: Not very challenging but it's quite amusing. For some dumb reason, you can't wheelie in a regular drag contest.

You can wheelie in a regular drag contest. My 1,074 bhp Supra does it all the time.

Really? I can easily do wheelies in wheelie contests but I wasn't able to do one so far in normal drag competitions. :|

Yeah, they're easy to do in normal drag competitions, but your car has to be tuned right. The Supra can do it with stage 3 parts, but it doesn't last for very long. I've managed pretty long wheelies with stage 4 parts and proper tuning. I will admit though, wheelies last a lot longer in wheelie competitions than they do in normal drag races.

ProStreet released today in South Africa. I could not find it anywhere but I managed to find a store that just received a box of the games and I was the first one to get one!! Our PC is not the best but, the game runs thank goodness!!
I am really liking the game! The sound is just amazing! Graphics wise :( I have to run it all on low so I can't comment. My framerate is not so great so its also difficult for me to comment on the physics, but so far I think its a giant leap from the physics in the previous NFS titles, though Most Wanted was pretty cool.
The menus take a bit of time to get used to. They can be a bit confusing, well for me anyways. All in all I say go get the game. For me it lives up to the hype. I'm going back to play some more!!!!! :D
BTW, I palyed poker last night and won so, I bought NFS1 from my buddy who would not let go of it, now I own ALL the NFS games all original! WOOOOT 8)

this isn't really a thought, but i have found out how to go to photo mode, and i do have a question:

what is the best awd/4wd grip car? i have 102,000 cash and i need cheap, yet decent one because my 350z slides loose all the time coming out of turns, loosing a lot of time and places, and im sure that anyone competing in g-effect will pwn my rear if i don't have enough traction.
is the ford escort good? or one of the audis? or a cheap thing like an eclipse or a r32 good? i don't mean just cheap, but i need something that i can mod to kick bum.

Got myself an Xbox360 a few days ago and bought Pro Street at a gameshop with a pre-order card inside without needing to preorder! I guess that shop preordered all their games.

Gotta say this is the best NFS till now, after Most Wanted. The graphic's beautiful on my normal TV. But only one thing's bothering me, not too much though, the fact that the fps (should I use this term for TV?) gets about 5-10 times lower when the car hits the grass at high speed. Maybe it's my TV that can't handle it? Anyone getting it too?

And something about damage, didn't EA mention that carbon fibre will damage how carbon fibre damage itself, as in breaks like a glass instead of just bent? But why is it bending on my Evo? Or did they screwed that feature?

Overall its a excellent game with excellent graphics. =D

It has dissapointed me... The visual tuning is one big laugh. It's still taking ages to make a proper car, the system is not very clever.. Plus the atmosphere is driving me crazy!

@ fishwiz, don't go for the Eclipse, it's not good for grips, try it in a free race day, you won't be pleased by it's performance.

Quick question, has anyone used the old M3 as either a drag or drift car?
