Porsche-AG wrote:@ Jopuma: Nice GTA style, but I'm sure you could find an anime person holding a gun to replace the guy on the bottom far right, he looks a bit out of place :P It would also add to the GTA theme you have going on there.
Just so you know, all the anime characters there are from the singular anime, that's the joke about it.
It's quite interesting to say the least.

Okay, I'm not familiar with anime so you'll have to explain what "singular anime" is.

Singular/same anime. All the characters in Jop's desktop are from the same show - Bleach.

These satisfyingly high resolution wallpapers are actually quite rare for some reason. I mean, you've probably seen some of them somewhere before but never in a high resolution. Anyone already familiar with GameWallpapers.com will know that you need a paid subscription to obtain the good wallpapers that are actually worth looking at. I got these wallpapers illegally because I do not support paying for wallpapers, however I won't reveal how to get these since I might get the ban hammer on me.

Ahh, I see. But I'm sure that if you really wanted to edit it, you could.

Thanks for the clarification.

Nice... It's been a long time since I've used, or seen for that matter, an Ubuntu system.

If Ubuntu could run any windows game or program flawlessly, I'd use it for life. =)

Using 2 operating systems is indeed a great option if you need windows to run certain programs. I'm currently running a dualboot myself of Ubuntu and vista, and i'm spending most of the time in Ubuntu. Creating a dualboot is really easy, it'll take you about 1 hour maybe and about 10gig of diskspace as a minimum.

And yea, as Stereo said, IF ubuntu could ever support all programms we'd all wave goodbye to windows i guess. For now, running windows is still the best way to play NFS ^^

That's if I wanted to, but I don't because it would be quite a bit of work. The guy vectored all those characters from scans.

Ah, I see. I'm not quite sure what you mean by "vectored" though it sounds like quite the task.

Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG) files can be resized without losing any quality because lines and whatnot are made using coordinates. Anime is easy to recreate using vector graphics because the shading/lighting uses sharp, basic lines and colours known as cell-shading.

With vectoring you get a much cleaner image though. Just cutting out images is fine, but it gets old after a while and the quality isn't as good as vectoring the image.

I actually prefer your older version. The background in the old one doesn't jump out at you as much. But in both, I don't personally like the grey bars on the top and bottom.
