So in your opinion what is more important, replacing my CPU (AMD Sempron 64 Socket 754 2.0GHz overclocked to 2.4GHz) or replacing my graphics card (BFG 7600GT OC)?

I'd say both, but if I had to pick one, I'd upgrade the CPU ...

It's a S939 cpu, so that'd be one hell of a waste of money.... and even more so the effort in trying to find a S939 cpu anyhow, as they're pretty much extinct now.

My current pc isn't much anymore (what else could you expect from a 4 year old pc) so i want a new pc someday. I came up with the following:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2,4 ghz)
Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R
Corsair 2048mb RAM pc6400 800 mhz
XFX VGA GeForce 8800GT XXX
Gigabyte ISolo 210 (case)
Be Quiet! Straight power 600 Watt ActivePFC
Zalman CNPS 9500 AT (CPU cooler)

it looks very good to me, only costs me about € 1000 (which is my budget).
Any comments or suggestion?
I'd like some comments on the Be Quiet! feeder and the CPU Cooler, i'm not really into them, these looked good to me...

BTW: i'm going to use this pc for using MS Office for school, and mostly gaming  This will let me play today's game at the max (or somewhere near that), right?
Thanks in advance!

The 8800GT will be great but you won't be able to play ALL the newest games at their truly highest settings, or maybe you will. My 7900GS can pull out 25-40 fps in Crysis at most settings "High" (about 3 of 10 are medium.)

I was looking at the 8800GT XXX also. 8)

Here's a PSU thread:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/sho ... p?t=108088

And I'm not sure whether that 9500 can take a quadcore. I'd go for the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme, the best aircooler currently available. Certainly not overkill for quads.

It will work well.

What do you guys think of my gaming/school laptop though, it works for most games in medium to high settings (managed to get 7958 in 3dmark05, 3944 in 3dmark06, and 5865 in 3dmark03)...many people don't think Quadro FX mobile cards are good, but I beg to differ (mine being basically an 8600M GT GDDR3 with higher clock settings and CAD oriented drivers) .

I'm thinking of getting a desktop for gaming from the Dell Outlet...probably a Dell XPS 600 or 410/400.

Is a Pentium Extreme Edition (3.46-3.73 Ghz) or Pentium D (3.0-3.6 Ghz) a good budget gaming processor...I would think so, due to the PEE/PD being high-clock two Presler or Smithfield Pentium 4's in one multi-chip module.

I will probably also be buying another (DX10 capable) graphics card, because all of the computers listed on the site have Geforce 7600-7900 series cards (which I would put inside the home computer, an older Optiplex).

Here is another question though...which of the two should I look at, the XPS 400/410, or XPS 600. I like the 400/410, but it has a BTX motherboard, while the 600 has the more-supported ATX motherboard..

Any opinions?

Yeah. Got a problem? Cause it can run F.E.A.R.(1280x960), CoD4(high-medium,1024) and some other of the latest games at good settings.

No, of course not, just wondering...BTW, yours is better then mine (Intel P4 2.6ghz, Radeon 9600XT, 1024mb RAM), though i can play supreme commander on it (with only 1 opponent and on the smallest maps, though...)
