Grip racing!!!!!
Grip racing!!!!!
i am trying to complete a grip competition and it is taking forever and i am winning all the races by 40 secs eaxh time but i am only collecting 5,00 points every time i have won each race twice and cant improve my points tally. So can people tell me what they think is the best grip car on the game (xbox360) and tell me what type of tuning i should use. (if you cant be bothered just tell me in one word the car you think is the best!!!!!)
Thank you
Thank you
Re: Grip racing!!!!!
It's a subjective matter, of course, but I believe the Rx-7 has done very well in my hands so far, though most people on this forum will yell Lancer Evo 9 or 10 or, alternatively, the new Skyline
.. There's a lot of Silvia die hard fans that might throw in that name as well. Hope this gets you started

Thanks

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
audi rs4. i could easily beat ryo with it, without any suspention tuning, just level 4 suspention upgrade with of course lots of other stuff.

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
i have bought the evo 9. dont know where the evo 10 is dnt know if i have unlocked it. can someone tell me when abouts you unlock it
Re: Grip racing!!!!!
I thought it was unlocked the same time the Evo IX was...
If not, maybe after the next showdown.
If you don't want to wait, you can always enter the code "unlockallthings".
I'm having trouble beating RYO in the first grip Time Trial with my Porsche GT2... I've got stage 4 everything and have been trying to tune the suspension and engine the best I can, but still no luck. I fall about a second short when I run a nearly perfect lap... And I have no monies to buy a new car. :C

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
911 turbo is awesome when tuned to level 4 it got only 650 hp but it pulls like hell
Re: Grip racing!!!!!
As much as it grieves me to admit it, my Rx-7 (stage 4 drivetrain, stage 3 everything else) also seems to have some problems keeping up with Mr Watanabe (What An Ape).. my budget is kind of low, so I'm looking for a new purchase that can beat him with default stage 3 parts.. I don't want to cheat ^^.. and even if I wanted, I don't have the money for that kind of purchase (stage 4 parts).. they cost more than the cars themselves..
Re: Grip racing!!!!!
use nissan skyline r35 and zonda for RYO races.
skyline got thhe super conering but sucks at striagt roads
zonda sucks at conering but it has the super speed to smoke ryo easily

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
Heh.. super.. I reused my Murcielago in grip and that actually worked out.. just need to let go of the gas and take corners slowly, but it worked.. on those tracks, at least.. Beaten Ryo now =). The trick is tuning it right.. that would be adjusting every handling option there towrds better turn in..

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
the cosworth sufferes severely with high- level parts. its only good until you put that level 3 engine in it. it will break loose and understeer from then on

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
I bought the evo IX hard to get used to getting alot higher scores though but hard to handle can someone tell me how i should tune it??????

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
What i did is set the steering to loose. And lower the ride height, but not too low. Set the front springs softer and rear stiffer. it worked for me.
Re: Grip racing!!!!!
i just found the z4 m coupe has excelent grip with no oversteer or understeer. i haven't even put in all level 3 parts, and it pwns.

Re: Grip racing!!!!!
Okay, some interesting grip car facts...
1) the Porsche GT2, although more powerful, is no way near as good as the Turbo. This is because the GT2 is RWD, the Turbo is AWD, and the GT2 costs more! The only thing that the GT2 is really usefull in is Speed.
2) The Evo IX and X are both unlocked at the same time. The Evo X is quite a bit better, but if you are a REALLY aggresive driver, the IX is the way to go.
3) The Zonda, even as great as it is, isn't (in my humble opinion) the BEST grip car. This is beacuse a) it's cornering is nowhere near as good as a Turbo, it's outaccelerated by a Skyline (R35), and it's top speed is matched by several other cars that are less than 20% as costly!
4) However, contradicting my previous comments, the Zonda is good for one or two things. The first of these is (suprise suprise!) drifting. It's about the only car that can rival the japanese tuner cars in a drift comp. The second, is its price. Some of you may think that it's far too high, and you'd be right, but the point is that when you get that BEAUTIFUL free car marker, you get a Pagani Zonda.
No matter what car you want, you MUST get a Pagani Zonda. Then, if you for some reason you don't like it, sell it. Its extravegent price means that when you sell it, you get a whole dump of money. THEN, you get that Turbo or Proto that you've always wanted...
5) RWD cars are only for experienced (translation-exceptionally good) drivers in grip. For one, just try using a Viper in a grip. The maintainence squad will have trouble finding the debris that's littered over the place. I mean, sure, there fast, and they have a stunning drift sequence, but you just CANNOT control them unless you are aided by a) a steering wheel AND b) some serious driving talent. Note-the only way to control them for normal people is to stick to the 100km/h speed limit!
I hope that helps!

oh snap
Re: Grip racing!!!!!
Dijel's grip excel thing showed that the RX8 and evo 9 performed incredibly without tuning.
