I have a 12" Lanzar 1000w subwoofer that I got as a freebie and its a very good subwoofer until I blow the voicecoil near the inputs, I have repaired it several times and seem to have it in a nice spot as I havent managed to blow it up again but now over time the sub has started to make some horrible scratching noises as if the voicecoil is out of line or distorted. I cant really hear it inside the car which is good, but its obvious with the boot open. Ive tried getting oil and WD-40 in the sub and it does help, but im wondering weather its worth taking the subwoofer apart and straighting the voicecoil or even winding a new one? How difficult is it?
Thats for looking.

Re: Lanzar Subwoofer Voicecoil
From what I've heard it's not too hard to wind a new voicecoil, but it won't take as much power as it used to. There are plenty of write-ups on the net, just do a search on 'voicecoil repair' or something.
Why did you put oil in there?
