Its like you compare grandma and teen chick... and still grandma wins by just a little. That means chick SUX, no matter it almost won grandma. Get what i mean
No cause thats disgusting to pick your grandma over some one thats your age =P

And the 3850/X2s were made to compete with the 8800GT's ect and they're doing a pretty good job at it. No where did I said was it better. Hint: Keyword- Compete.

I'm curious which of these cards would be better to get.

I'm leaning more toward the XFX one, but the BFG looks nice too. (no i'm not getting them for looks i'm getting them for "looks" ie specs)

XFX PVT80FSHE9 GeForce 8800GTX Extreme
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814150232

BFG BFGE88768UOCE GeForce 8800 Ultra
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814143107

and if ImJ says his 7600 or whatever can bushwhack either of those cards i seriously will be on a plane to england just to bash his face in and THEN his video card

seriously if you have that much money to burn on the BFG then your better off sitting on your hands and wait for the 9 series to come out

I only saw the BFG today and I don't want to wait that long for the 9 series to come out.

I was planning on getting the XFX one, but I was just asking when it comes down to it which one would be a good bang for the buck?

From my experience with XFX, it's awesome. All my XFX cards have been great overclockers and never overheated.

Had a BFG once. Sucked.

Used XFX once. Never looked back. :)

I'll just stick with my gut and go with XFX. Always trustworthy and besides I get free copies of Lost Planet and Company of Heroes with it. :)

What you heard.....and you're wrong.

I've had several graphics cards from XFX and they've run brilliantly. Besides all the reviews on that card are 5 star ratings.

And funny you should say that when you use BFG and EVGA and such which are 3rd party as well.

My friend already got his 7600GS with heatsink cuz he doesn't like noise.
Now i decided that my X800 (I had an X700 before like my friend but i got an X800 for free from a guy) is outdated so i want a new gfx card too, now i have the same choices BUT unlike my friend i don't care about noise so should i get the ASUS HD2600PRO and overclock it like mad or the Gigabyte 7600GS Heatsink which will stay at stock speed and may overheat and die when i play crysis?

If you want an overclocker, get a 7900GS. They're cheap, and they're famous because of their overclocking abilities.

I have AGP AND not much money so those 2 choices are my only choices and that's the only stuff i can find.

i say yes considering the 7900GS is an excellent overclocker bringing it to the 7950 level in some cases.

My dad just got a new computer which has an ATI X1300/X1550 (256 mb) video card (I honestly don't know why it is listed as X1300/X1500 but that's what Windows displays it as). Anyways, I was wondering if this card is better than the BFG Nvidia 6600GT (128 mb). Obviously it's better in a sense because it has more VRAM and the ATI is PCIe while the Nvidia is AGP but other than that, will I see any noticeable difference in gaming performance? (I'm trying to convince my dad to let me install some games on his computer if it's better than mine and I honestly don't know a lot about ATI cards, I'm kind of skeptic about them to be honest).

wa wa wa wa wait a minute here...

so your telling me that the 7950 may be faster than a 8600GT but it's graphics capability is limited compared to the 86?

That always confused me :?

Well the only thing standing between a 86GT and 7950 is DX10, but the 86GT is weak with it anyways so it's not a big thing when comparing the two. So in that case, the 7950 would stomp the 86GT

And if you look at comparison shots in Crysis with DX9 and DX10, you really won't notice a difference except maybe a LITTLE bit nicer trees and sun.
