A phone in a movie is something completely diffirent from car in a racing game, the cars are the main thing in a racing game, if they would show phones in a racing game (like in Juiced) then it would be advertising and they would pay for it.
Same goes for cars in a for instance a shooter, then it would be advertising.

OK, now I feel absolutely stupid for buying the Japanese version after seeing the car list for the Aus version. I mean, in the Japanese one you only get the F430 and 599 for the Fezzas, but in the Aus/US version you get those, plus the F40, plus another 1976 one I can't remember the name of. On top of that, the Corvette that you see in the screens has not yet made an appearance on my version, and then there's tuned versions of all the japanese cars as well!! the Japanese version has gone to hell in a handcart in my books...

Now you have another reason to feel like an idiot ... The Ferrari F12007 will also be part of the game. The first real Formula One featured in any GT game. It costs 2 000 000cr, so some saving will be needed... but I cannot wait so see what it's like to drive :P . Oh, cockpit view!

I already knew about that, which sucks even more. The one hope for me is the possibility of DLC when the PAL/US versions are released.

Here is the cockpit view of the F2007, which is basically what I expected. Though by the sounds of things, the car wont be much of a fiddly/twitchy handler as it should be in a real life F1 car... nor will it be as realistic as the physics in F1: Championship Edition. Hopefully things will improve for the full version of GT5. :o

:o Surprised jacoja hasn't updated us with this, but I'll go ahead. GTP got their hands on some exclusive video of the F40 on the Suzuka GP circuit and the F2007 doing a lap around the Suzuka short circuit.

Saw the F2007's video yesterday, but that F40's is new to me.

It was awesome, nice driving too. :)

Didn't think anybody was watching/replying to this thread, so I didn't bother .

To make up for it, here are a few HD shots of the Ferrari F2007, along with some smaller shots of the F40 (though you could just watch the video instead). And these images are big... I'm talking 1920x1080 to 3840x2160, so thanks Polyphony 8)

One lucky user, named amar212 has already got his hands on the PAL version of the game. He has organised a thread with a detailed overview of the game, now with a total of Seven updates.

Don't want to read into it too much myself... I'd rather find out everything once I have the full game next month. ;)

Edit: Geez, I just found out that it will be released in 2 days for Australia. My EB store told me April.
Well then, GT5P for the weekend 8)

Trade in 2 PS3 games and you get it for free. I wonder if that counts the Japanese version...

How on earth is that free? I would never give away two full ps3 games, for what is essentially a Demo.
I wouldn't even trade in two rubbish games for a full game, either.

That would be their way of making more money.. seeing as most companies are all about the money and dont care the least bit about them.
And on the subject of GT5:P.. WOW
it friggin gorgeous.

It's good for me because I get to get rid of two crap games that I don't need anymore. Luckily for me, there's nothing that says that I can't trade in my Japanese version, haha!!

^^ They will hate you for that :)

Anyway... I somehow managed to grab myself a copy today :P . All copies at gametraders were sold-out during the day (doesn't anyone work?)... and the people at EB games were not allowed to sell a copy, one day prior to the release date.
But... luckily I asked the games section at Myer, and some brilliant person found me a copy hidden away under some boxes 8) .

I've been playing it for a few hours now. Amazing game... especially when all driving aids are switched off.
I narrowed my first car choice to a Focus St, Mazda 6, and C4... and decided to go with the Bright orange ST. Great car.
And something else I found appealing was the in-game music. Rather then the slightly boring piano tunes you got in GT4 (when you finish a race), it's returned back to those proper old-school rock tunes, which we got in GT1-3.

I can talk about the game all day... but I really must get racing again (About to purchase a new Z4 :D ). Enjoy the game tomorrow.

Oh, before you go ahead and buy another GT5:P, the Japanese version will have a major update tomorrow. If you recieved this messege a little too late, then you now have two copies of the game. Gongrats
