Maybe, but I was driving in it ~145 KPH and there was almost none acceleration :D (on highway of course)

BTW, I heard, that this engine (1.0) is:
- very good for 1st generation Yaris
- quite good for Yaris Verso
- very bad for 2nd generation Yaris (maybe it's too heavy, I don't know) ;)

Always wanted to ask, how is the dish coming out so much, I've seen japanese cars which their dishes came out even more. How is that made? Lower size tire on a bigger size rim? Like 17" tire on a 18" rim?

It does take a while to get up to speed, but it can go pretty fast, but with that comes a lot of noise :D
The 1.0 is a nice engine for city use, but on the highway it gets rather noisy and gets it's not as economical (duh but it just doesn't have to pulling power to get keep it in the low revs to keep a decent MPG)

I have a '04 Yaris 1.3 myself wich I opted over the 1.0 because it's quieter and uses less fuel on the highway, it does use abit more in the city but it's still has a very decent milage.

Thanks man. :)

Theyre 195/50s stretched over an 8J rim. Theyre not stretched enough so that they look daft, but theyre still stretched to the point that all I ever get from people off forums is about ''how dangerous they are''...still never had ONE problem.

Just googled those wheels, they would look fantastic.

In Poland there are very few decent highways, and our Toyota is usually being used in the city, so we don't really need more powerful engine ;) About the noise - yes, that's true, but personally I don't like too hushed interiors  I like to hear the engine :P Of course, if we had here more highways, maybe I'd change my mind ;)

I finally made the choice what to buy to replace the Peugeot 206 HDI and I decided to get a Toyota Corolla Verso 2.2 D4D D-Cat Diesel engine it's officially a 7 seater but I will probably never use the rear seats to they will be removed from the car to give a decent luggage space.

It will be this model and this color, not exactly silver more champagne like, even though I normally don't like grey or silver I did like the color:
Image

I know it's a very boring people carrier.
But I needed a car that was comfortable, had a decent MPG, was easy to drive and it had to have a decent performance if I needed it, and I think the 177 HP and 400 Nm will get this car up to speed nicely.
And it got plenty of space inside, I got alot of room on the passenger side (where I spend most of my time)

I don't know what I/we will do with the Civic and/or the Yaris but it's pretty clear that one of them have to go or they will both go and be replaced by 1 car, if 1 car goes I am afraid it will have to be the CTR, because it's the least usefull car of the 2, sure it's faster and has more room inside, but then if I want to take something big I take the Verso and the Yaris has a lot better MPG then the Civic the Yaris is simply cheaper in every aspect.

Sorry mate, missed your post. The dish on my wheels looks so pronounced because theyre 2" wider than most alloy wheels, and they have a 0 offset.

Nice car stiggy.

So these are special rims, seen some other models with the same aspect. They need special tires, don't they? Seen this on a lot of european cars, VAG Group the most.

There's nothing "special" about them, it's just an uncommon size. There are problems that come with 0 offset wheels though, like rubbing/clearance issues. I'd guess that the MX5 is either really stiff or has rolled guards.

Most aftermarket wheels have plenty of options when it comes to widths and offsets. You don't need special tyres either, but they need to be a suitable width.

195 on an 8 inch rim is kinda pushing it :P Wouldn't say it's dangerous, but I wouldn't do it myself.

I've seen 195's done on a 9. It looked idiotic.
195 on an 8 is a good stretch, enough to look good without posing and real danger if they're fitted well.

Euro stretch on Jap cars = damn cool 8)

Anyway, I was just wondering if anybody here drives an Mitsubishi Evo X?

And honestly, FWD is generally a failure with more than 200hp, so V8? I'll stick with AWD thanks...

My other half suggested I get one as a fast car when I've got some cash but I really don't see the appeal. It looks like a Renault Laguna with added black plastic parts, it's got less power than the Evo IX (well, the homoligations of it) and I don't think it would feel that fast after a 385bhp, R/R 911. Then again very little does!

Theres been a delay in my pickup of the bike. On the morning I was meant to be picking it up it was knocked by a delivery vehicle and sustained damage to the fairing. Now Powercul fairings aren't under production anymore so BMV Moto are hunting through their parts bin to see if they have any; if not I'm going to reject it because they've offered to bump me up to the top of the list for the HP2 Sport.

In the meantime I'm riding a Triumph Daytona 675 Triple which I've borrowed off a mate. In yellow and black, no less. I'll pop some pics of it up.

I really could care less, as I don't race it. It's just my weekend boulevarde cruiser. And oh yeah, it was designed by Pininfarina.

The front looks like an older Maserati, which is cool..
But the back looks like a retarded platypus designed it.

Nice, the Daytona would be my other pick over the Speed Triple.

This is the sort of bike that you want if you're absolutely nuts with the throttle. My mum isn't, but still it's a frickin' nice bike:

This, my friends, is my mum's LM Black Honda CBR1000RR. Top speed: not entirely sure but in excess of 300kph. Power: 178hp.

The problem is they're FORTY THOUSAND POUNDS for no real discernable reason. The HP2 Sport uses as much carbon fibre, a more expensive brake and suspention setup and a more complex (if less powerful engine) and retails for 1/3 of the price of the Desmodeici.

If you want a Ducati, save your AU$100,000 and buy a 1098/S/R. IMO better looking, MUCH better value, and the Desmo doesn't actually have that much over the 1098 in terms of power.
