Test drive unlimited
Re: Test drive unlimited
You can mod TDU now?
Saw that license plate photo, is it now possible to make new plates? And if so, does it work online?

Yeah, in fact, if you go to the US Atari Test Drive Unlimited forums, under General Discussion, there are whole lists of them. Here's a link (I'll remove this if linking like this is against the rules or anything):Morty wrote:You can mod TDU now?

Well, yeah, making new plates is possible. However, all of the cars besides traffic (which must be modded separately) have the same plates on your computer / installation of TDU, but no one else can see it online unless they have the same license plate mod. The same applies to any mod - they must have it as well to see it.Morty wrote:Saw that license plate photo, is it now possible to make new plates? And if so, does it work online?

Should have guessed, it was the same with the multiplayer GTA mods... If you had other mods, the other people online wouldn't see them. It's the same with the car packs in TDU as well... I guess online mods would have to be done on a whole different level. Still, great stuff.RedCarDriver wrote:Well, yeah, making new plates is possible. Major update:
SWEEEEEET!!!!!!
http://forum.zmodeler2.com/viewtopic.php?t=3339
TDU MODEL IMPORTING!!! The Veyron pic isn't (necessarily) fake!
Oh, that, and, if you look on my mod site, I've fixed the Cien and T440R gauges so that they're working analog ones.

Re: Test drive unlimited
lol, yeah, that 350Z mod looks pretty ridiculous
I wish that guy would do the Veilside widebody kit for the 350Z (think DK's car from Tokyo Drift), when he's done with the R8. I also wish he'd make the Corvette C6 into a Camaro 5th-Gen, or maybe Zonda F from Zonda, DBS from DB9 (replacing Vanquish), or, more importantly, a CCX from the CCR. Heck, I could go on and on with requests... ah well, I'll leave it at the finished R8 and a CCX from the CCR.

Re: Test drive unlimited
I've always considered buying this game for my new PC... but, considering it's a MOOR game, I've been worried about the lack of people still playing it online. So how many people still actually play online? I don't want to pay $60 to drive around in a ghost town .

@RedCarDriver: I'm giving him (BasBas2004) who is doing the R8, a model of a Porsche carrera GT from NFS:Most Wanted, he said he could probably do it.
---
Edit: Here is his list he is going to do.. The porsche carrera GT is in it WOOT!

Re: Test drive unlimited
Well even know he is changing the koenigsegg you can pick the car you want it to replace anyways.. The file size has to be exact or lower then a car you want to replace. For example: Skyline GTR can replace and be on the Ascari.
Example for file size:
Ascari file size -
KZ2.bnk - 2,552
KZ2_I.bnk - 4,240
Skyline GTR file Size -
SkyGTR.bnk - 1,402Kb
SkyGTR_I.bnk - 4,156Kb
------
So its all about file size they need to be exact or under for Test Drive Unlimited to read them without crashing. Same thing goes for if someone is creating a car for Test Drive Unlimited the file size is locked or something like that so if someone is building a car it has to be the same file size or under for TDU to read it.
Example for file size:
Ascari file size -
KZ2.bnk - 2,552
KZ2_I.bnk - 4,240
Skyline GTR file Size -
SkyGTR.bnk - 1,402Kb
SkyGTR_I.bnk - 4,156Kb
------

If you have PCI-E, it shouldn't be a problem as 8600GTs can be had for $50.donaldgladden wrote:I'm with Carcrazy, it wouldnt be fun driving a R8 at 5-10 fps.

No. You guys don't get it. If you haven't heard (which I think is impossible), he has a Q6600, 2GB and a 7600GT. He should be running it nicely.
