This game is gonna be the bomb . . . and 40 cars is a decent number considering the fact that they had to model the entire car interior and all. not to mention there will probably be many more cars available as DLC . . . i think im anticipating this game more than undercover . . . the last need for speeds have been somewhat monotonous (not counting prostreet, which was decent despite all the bad reviews (the car list and customizing was awesome!)) and whats the point of having an open world if its not that fun to drive in . . . for example in carbon and most wanted i never even used the free-roam because it was boring . . . but i miss the feature in underground 2 where you could customize the cars to use in multiplayer with no need for in-game currency, as well as the drifting i liked the way it was in that game (not like pro-street) and pinkslip (i love taking other people's cars from them). Another thing that strikes me as weird is that they say they're going back to the roots, but the roots of need for speed aren't tuning and japanese cars . . . its exotic cars like ferrari and lamborghini. dont get me wrong i love tuning, im just saying. Or they could put betting in as a way to make more money like in juiced 2. And lastly, even though its not going to happen, i would like ferrari to make a return in the need for speed series. sorry for the rant i just have alot of ideas . . . : p

Thats where you're wrong. GT5 Prolgue had nearly 70 cars, ALL of them meticulously detailed with interior views to match. Granted it took longer to make, but still.

Can you stop comparing GT5 to every game... Cause that's all you ever say to a game most of the time.. Plus this is all consoles not just PS3 so really GT5 doesn't even count. :P

True, but Midnight Club is the full game, whereas GT5 Prologue is essentially just an expanded demo. No doubt the full GT5 will be even better. All I want to know is if the graphics and dynamics on MC:LS are up to date.

Just a random question-why is there customization in just about every game, except GRID? (note: I was reminded of GRID by your avatar)

But then there isn't even a releasedate for GT5 (probably far far away)
And it takes then half a decade to make a game.

I played it, and i must say its the best midnight club out there.. Specially when they used GTA IV gaming engine for it (I think) i still own my first car and haven't brought a 2nd car at all. Car details are excellent. AI are hard sometimes but on the map there is 'Red, Orange, Green' to let you know their difficulty level. Haven't tried online. The map is nice and huge with some good normal cars as traffic ive seen a Eclipse and skyline just driving as traffic along with Cadillac's. The cops imo are better then NFS MW they react to speed limit and red lights also burnouts, on the HUD on the right corner it tells you the road speed you should be going, so if a cop is driving around and you go over that limit they will get you just like normal life, you can also get a speeding ticket if you pull over. As they are walking up to your car you can speed off or you can pay the ticket. Car physics are tough but not too tough so you have to use the brakes in races for once and if turn to sharply you can end up hitting a building.. Car sound FX are nice i can't describe it but they ain't really fake car sounds or just made up ones i think, they aint nothing like Pro streets sounds but they are decent enough to listen too and actually not get annoyed at them. Photo mode is great, take afew shots and then upload them to the Midnight club server so you can download them on your PC or share them, its fun ive got about 7 shots already in the first night i played it. Story? well to me there is no story line, some movies now and then hanging with your friends about races or tuning cars or meeting other racing groups. I think there is 400 races as its told me anyway.. and thats just for circuit races i believe. Customization is the fun part not many parts about 4 bumpers and headlights etc you can choose out of so its not over done, they are all real manufactures so no fake stuff like NFS.. They also included widebody kits and underbody neons, also a nice tuning area. :) Vinyl editing is way more quick and better then any NFS game i can tell you that, also of premade designs or you can create your own, i forgot how much layers but i think its enough to make a replica or something.
-------
I would seriously give this: 9.8 out of 10.

Note: Thats my opinion so if you don't agree with my opinion make your own..

Car does suck, graphics look pretty nice, I haven't had a racing game in a while (NFS Carbon) so maybe I'll get it.
