The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Some news I found on www.speedhunters.com is that Honda has dropped the S2000 and NSX Concepts and Toyota dropped the new Corolla AE86 or whatever it was called.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Then why is the "NSX Concept" still being built to run with Lexus' LF-A?
Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
holy crap the Spec V is 100K more than a standard GTR. Does it even have more power or is it just aero upgrades

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Yearp more power. I won't be surprised if it at least obliterates the ZR1 on the 'Ring, if not the ACR. But the ACR's lap was with a bad driver, so...probably not.
Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
the ACR with a good driver could probally do a 7:10 or faster
Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
But the ACR has got so much more power...
And besides, the GT-R V-spec is mainly going to be about stripping weight and suspension tuning, not really about the power increase.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Power is nothing without traction, poise and manageability. The ACR may be the "fastest production car" (despite the fact it's not, as the Radical SR8, as I have shown before, is both a production car AND road legal) but it's not going to get a whole lot faster with a better driver.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Why is there no mention of the Radical SR8 anywhere when concerning production car lap times then?

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
I'm not entirely sure, but it's a production car in the same way that, for example, the factory-produces Ultimas are. Neither appear on the "production cars" section of the 'Ring lap times because they are bespoke cars; they can be, and have been, road registered, and are produced for series racing in fairly large numbers, but because it's a customer request to get the car certified for road use, they aren't seen as "road legal production" cars.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Why is there no mention of the Radical SR8 anywhere when concerning production car lap times then?
Side note- Porsche 956 doing the ring in 6.11? That's an average speed of around 120mph!

You can, or certainly could, buy them pre-built from the manufacturer.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Also note that Ultimas are kit cars...
Edit- Lifted from Wiki
As a result, they have established the following official, independently verified records for a production car equipped with road tires and exhaust:

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Oh shiznit, I would'nt be surprised if Nissan goes back to Le Mans next year or the year after that with the GT-R. It seems Nissan wants to branch the car out to alot of motorsports ( Super GT, 24h Dubai, etc ) Although the GT-R that raced in Dubai couple weeks ago wasn't full blown race material, i think it was a simple endurance test. I'm pretty sure we'll see more GT-R this year in racing.
Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
tbh I reckon that looks worse than the stock NSX because of the roof scoop and the fron't too wide. It kind resembles a 350Z from the front...
ANYWAY, which of the new "4-door supercars" do you guys like? I personally like the Maserati still, but the Lamborghini looks nice.
Oh, and that GTR is shopped...

Quite obviously shopped.
I saw quite a few Quattroportes in Sydney and I must say they do look quite good. The Estoque is still my pick though.

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Yeah, I saw that, not really a fan of Hyundai myself, but its got respectable figures, on paper at least...
Wait, is there a Murcielago model between the "regular" LP640 and the GTR? I saw a black Murcielago, it had a low and wide bodykit, 5-spoke (looked like racing) rims, but not quite as extreme as a GTR...

Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
If you're talking about the ones which has been produced, it's the Bentley Continental Flying Spur for me. Aston Martin Rapide will be my choice, if it's really going to be produced.Striker94 wrote:ANYWAY, which of the new "4-door supercars" do you guys like? Re: The New/Prototype/Concept Car Topic
Yeah for current models I still wouldn't look past a Beemer or an Audi, or even the G-Power Hurricane

But it was in a Lamborghini dealershipKoenigsegg_Rox wrote:I would believe that is a riced Murcielago
