Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
IMO PC is the best way to play hardcore games like racing simulators (kind of like SHIFT's general direction) unless you have a really good steering wheel

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
That was the first thing I thought about too, but I didn't bother posting. Strangely, I bother posting this.

I was looking around on the net and I saw this pic for a Ferrari 430 being in NFS Shift.

This might just get interesting!!!

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
That may just be a pic from the Ferrari Project that Slightly Mad Studios was working on, with a NFS Shift logo stamped on it. I admit, I'll be excited if Ferraris are featured in Shift, but I'm not getting my hopes up. There hasn't been a Ferrari in NFS in over 6 years.Speedismyneed08 wrote:I was looking around on the net and I saw this pic for a Ferrari 430 being in NFS Shift.

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
I really want to know if EA or Slightly Mad Studios has anything info on this pic. If it's true this will actually be interesting to see Ferrari. Especially after a 6 year absence.

Oo! F430 Scuderia! Now that's interesting.prince1142003 wrote:That may just be a pic from the Ferrari Project that Slightly Mad Studios was working on, with a NFS Shift logo stamped on it. Well, I kinda have to agree with you here. We can't get our hopes up. But then again, the only reason why NFS hasn't been featuring Ferrari's in their previous NFS'es were probably because of licensing; the fact that Ferrari doesn't want to have anything to do in associating with street racing.
But now that this year SHIFT is purely track based and no cops, I can't see why I shouldn't be buying this image.
On that note, EA had better make the right engine sound for the Scuderia, 'cuz that's a signature noise. EA better not get it wrong.
Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
This is awesome! I care about the upcoming NFS again and I'm anticipating it.
Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
Just to side with reason;
Like prince said, You do realize that this image could just be from that Ferrari Project game with just the SHIFT logo stamped on it, right?

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
Hate to be the one to say this but, I talked to Bojan. He said the pic was an April Fools joke. A Ferrari in NFS? Well one can still hope.

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
It wouldn't have been released by the developers themselves, but instead by a third party rumor starter in the community.
Common symptom of pre-release mania and hype.

I'm sorry to get your hopes down, but EA has failed us. Looks like they have something against Ferrari(s).

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
At least have your facts straight. EA is not the one against Ferraris, it's the opposite way around. Ever since liberal car customization was introduced, Ferrari has objected to their cars in NFS games. Additionally, the Underground series featured illicit and illegal street racing and Ferrari did not want to be associated with that. Since then, I don't think EA has tried getting a license from Ferrari because that would mean 1) not having any street racing for a few successive games (because licenses are hardly ever on a one game basis) and 2) they would have to very specific about the terms of the license and I don't think EA wants to do that because the developers themselves don't know what the future games will be like.

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
That doesn't explain the fact that Shift and ProStreet are track based (not street racing) games but still lack Ferrari licensing. It could be the fact that Ferrari hates NFS's horrendous body kits like the rest of us and does not want to subject their cars to that massacre of useless customization.
I also have to point out the possibility that something is wrong on a legal level. I think it has more to do with bad business relationship between the two companies rather than simply implying what you are saying.
Yes, Underground is where it started, but I think that even if EA made a move to produce a classic NFS title, it would still lack Ferrari's. Of course, there is no real legitimate answer from EA on this matter.

Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
Did TDU have Ferraris? I don't remember.
Re: Talk about NFS - SHIFT
Yes it did, and remember that TDU was street racing.
Like I said, I think there could be a sort of legal (and personal) angst between EA and Ferrari.
I personally like this; because tbh, I don't think Ferrari should lower themselves to the recent mess of NFS games. It is a smart move on their behalf.
