Model trains aren't exactly a great investment, either.

Hmm. I have an EVA-00 figurine with die-cast leg armour panels, does that count? :D Cost me like 80 bucks too . . .

it totally depends on what you buy.

I have several model trains, all 1:87 one was 400 euro in 2003, now they are selling for the same price (used) It's a limited run of 1000 models with certificat with name and all. (I'm talking about a locomotive not a complete trainset  )
The price is steadely climbing.
Some old models are very expensive.
But I think the same goes for the Die Cast cars.

Woo, finally got my cars after about a month. Not terribly impressed with the quality, however. Pretty good, but not superb, especially considering I've got to find myself some super glue, or something, to glue the windshield wiper back onto the BMW and the spoiler onto the Corvette. One thing I am impressed with, though, is how sharp the antennae are. Ow. :x

Anywho, picture tiem.

Edit:
Ooh... Kyosho has a Shelby Cobra. =P~ Too bad it's out of stock.

2nd Edit:
So, apparently there's, like, no such thing as diecast models of Tiburons. Or any Hyundais. Or Kias, for that matter. :| Really would have liked to get me a Tiburon.

Stopped by the store, today, and picked up a single foam board piece and a folding foam display board to use as a backdrop. Worked pretty well. :)

Woow... very nice, Haz. I love them a lot 8)
Yeah, Autoart models are not very tough... but they do have the best attention to detail (I noticed the texture of the seats in your MX-5) and killer antennas  .

The second set of photo's have turned out very nicely with the foam in the background. And the rest look brilliant (I like it when people attempt to take good pics).

Keep us updated :)

Finally... finally found exactly what I was searching for after all these months. All the way from Germany, A well priced 1:18 Minichamps FW26! My life is now complete. And it looks brilliant. 8) More pictures to come (during daylight).

However, I now need 2 more F1 cars in order to balance out my cars on display. Still waiting for Hamiltons 2007 car to come into stock. Then, I'm not sure what else I'll be looking for. Hopefully Webbers RB4 (in my signature) will be avaliable. :D

1:18 Bugatti Veyron AutoART (Signature). Found it for a good price in the city today... so I decided to go ahead and buy it :D. Elsewhere, they are either out of stock, or AUD$300  .

I got some, but they're pretty small.
'78 Corvette 1/39
Hummer H3 1/46
04' Civic Type R
Umm... these are the biggest I have. The smaller ones are: '97 Corvette, Hummer H3T, Skyline R34, 300ZX, Cadillac Sixteen, DeVille DTS, Cien, Chevrolet SS, 2002 Bel Air Concept and a Celica.

Can't help you there. I haven't seen any around (Except for really cheap ones).

I've taken a few pictures of the Veyron also. I don't think I closed the bonnet/hood on some of the pictures properly. There should be a smaller gap between the two panels.

Back before I moved to Canada from China, I had about 30~40 models from 1:18 to 1:24 (and some less than 1cm long plastic cars, too bad I can't bring them along on the plane). Now, I have a minichamp 1:18 BMW M3 GTR "street" silver, a 1:64 BMW M3 GTR white, and a Audi R8 keychain :D .

Man... I really need to find a way to bring all my collections across the ocean...

Found a couple of real bargains today, because they had slightly damaged boxes. I usually just ditch the box anyway. :)

Taking pictures at night make the cars look real dull… so I’ll share some better ones when I get some free daylight.

Loving the HKS R32. Reminds me of those old HKS drag cars from GT2 that utterly pwned...

Yeah, I second that. Winning that car on GT2 was when I initially fell in love with that HKS livery.
Although that car owned in a straight line, it was complete crap at cornering (well, it was a drag car). Even the giant corners on the Test track was almost impossible to steer on. Great car though.
