So you have owned a 7... FD or FC or maybe the old first generation FB? heheheheGrez~Supra_RZ-S wrote:Thanks. I sold the RX7 for this for a few reasons.btw Grez, fancy Supra you got there, but here you got yourself a rotary fan, still the Supra is an awesome machine, but not what I would own personally
MPG. Fuel prices have been constantly rising, the 7 did 12mpg on a good day.
Reliability. Stock 7s have to be rebuilt every 60-80k miles. Mine would have needed it every 40-60k.
Power. I wanted something which had huge potential for power gains, but where I didnt have to take the block apart.
To each their own
Well, what I want to do with a 7 is a 20B 3 rotor conversion... It puts down a lot of power.
Some dude in the US pounded a Viper with it, but he had some problems with the injectors so at 6k RPM he had to back off.
The 7 loves fuel thats true, have you seen any Diesel rotaries? They are more efficient they say than gasoline ones.

Only one bad thing about the RX-7 when buying them.
It is not easy to find the perfect sample.
Lots of things to consider, but most important is the boost pattern.
If it doesn't match specific values (Don't remember them right now) the turbo's have some kind of problems and you may have to swap em in the near future.
How does your Supra do fast corners btw? Hopefully not like the Underground Supra non RZ that understeers on every corner.

The mileage determines the turbo life. I believe the turbos are rated to about 100k miles. Therefore, if youre buying one which has that mileage, or one with about 20k after a rebuild, its time to find new ones. The one I bought was a mess, so everything was rebuilt thanks to RoTechniks.
The Supra corners very well, the wishbones front and rear are renound for making the car very stable. As for the understeer, thats one thing you can never say about my car
it loves to kick the back end out whenever it can.
