Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
haha they've really covered every type of racer this year havent they lol. TBH I was hoping for a Underground 3 or Hot Pursuit 3 but I guess this can't be that bad. Anyway, just because it's the Burnout team doesn't mean that it'll be a burnout style game does it!?

Well if Criterion makes the next NFS we know 2 things
1) The graphics will be great
2) It wont be a laggy piece of.... like undercover

Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
Well the last few days, I was dreaming of a Hot Pursuit 3 but with more action! I also imagined the intro...
similar
A hot Lambo(or Ferrari) speeding through the backyards! Then it drifts and gets into the main road. The camera zooms on the cops(something like the Most- Wanted zoom when a pursuit started). The driver presses the BOOST button while the cops are calling for a backup! Some of the cops, crash, some other give up... Suddenly the player sees the city river. There is a bunch of rocks that look like a ramp next to it. The Lambo jumps but the cops brake(you scared chicks!). We see the cops looking at the flying car and whispering''He's not gonna make it...'' But of course the Lambo manages to get to the other side. The driver brakes, gets out of the Lambo and shouts! ''IDIOTS! TAKE THAT! HA HA!'' The he gets in and leaves with a crazy burnout while the cops look angrily at him...
So, I mean, Criterion has given us some really nice racing playground with cool jumps etc. If they manage to combine the Need For Speed exotics, cops and customisation with some of the Burnout action, I'm in. Not make it like a NFS- Burnout but add a bit of their previous creation's style. Not just closed suburban tracks like in Hot Pursuit 2...

Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
awesome a hybrid of 2 great concepts was my initial reaction yeah
Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
depends how they combine them...
if they both take the best of the 2 worlds, then it'd be awesome...
but if they end up getting the worse of the 2... sigh...
Burnout fun factor and details and graphics and ... physics(?) with NFS' car choice, personalization *NOT including body kits! i'm SO FREAKIN tired of those!* and pursuit... that'd be pretty amazing

I have just one question.
How is it that the forum members predicted this? If we have an insider, I'd like to know!

Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
Burnout Paradise was a great game, therefore we can certainly expect a slick ride (no pun intended) from Criterion.
I used to be against this back when it was just a theory, but I have changed my mind.

This is fantastic news, Criterion did such a nice job on the Burnout franchise. Can't wait to see what they do with NFS. This will rock!

Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
I really hope the team takes their time and does a good job. It would ruin Criterion's great reputation to make a bad game.
And let's hope it doesn't just end up being a replica of Burnout Paradise with real cars.

Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
Criterion did really awesome job on Burnout Paradise. I'm gonna agree with Porsche-AG on this one. Other than that I'm looking forward for this.
Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
Ok, since EA just made an NFS sim this year (Shift), I'm praying Criterion will make an NFS game that goes back to its roots: supercars, awesome scenery, epic police chases.
Re: Next Need for Speed From Criterion
If Criterion follows THEIR roots, that just might be the case!

Unless some executive puts someone from Black Box in charge like they did with Shift.
