Hot Pursuit Environments (locations)

Post by xturbo »

At the conference I noticed this:
http://s125.photobucket.com/albums/p56/ ... ations.jpg

I put numbers to start discussing those areas.

1: Seems to be a countryside, like european mountains.
2: Desert for sure, but I don't get the "white thing" that is in the border of the curve
3: Mountains!!! or a canyon...don't know but that seems pretty awesome, reminds me of the Rocky Pass mixed with Redrock Ridge from NFS 3 HP.
4: Desert as well, maybe it's similar to ProStreet and Shift ones.
5: Forest, that bridge appeared in the gameplay.
6: I'm totally amazed by this screen, if you can notice it's pretty photorealistic. It's similar to the arounds of Los Angeles.

If anyone has a better screen, please upload it and let's discuss of course :)

maybe instead of free roam we will be able to drive in some sort of free mode...just choose the track and car and drive around as long as you want, no timer, no laps, nothing, just exploration of tracks...no cops obviously.

Hot Pursuit Environments (locations)

Post by shinjeon9 »

Free roam? Hmm...sounds like HP2 + free-roam thingy. Hope they create a HUGE map for our needs of mountains, forest areas, and many much things...but it' sounds great!
The only risk is if there is no risk at all.

So that Seacrest County will be the name of the open-world map, am I right?

Yup, the name was revealed in a "speed ticket" invitation that was given to a press guy like 5 days ago :)

It's also in Criterion's description of the game.

+1 to Redrock Ridge..... best track ever

and as a Spaniard I request a Mediterranean Paradise (kinda that in NFSHP2) but who cares what I request, the game is probably almost completed LOL.

Open world is nice, but I hope they allow you to race on a closed track with cops after you, like HP2. For some of these closed tracks, they could be remakes from NFS3 and HP2.

the track shown on E3 gameplay videos is very similar to "National Forest" on HP2.

Apparently it's four times bigger than Paradise City, which isn't necessarily a good thing though.

Does anyone have the miles of every open world map? From U2, Carbon, MW and Undercover? Maybe we can get an approximate comparison and determine if this is going to be bigger than the games previous to MW or bigger than Undercover's map.

I don't have the exact mile count, but according to the hands-on, a developer mentioned it'll feature OVER 100 square miles to drive in. Some guy from Wikipedia mentioned that therefore it'd be "four times larger than Paradise City". He may have either made it up or extracted it from some reference that I'm too lazy to find.

205*4= 1000 miles of open road...mmmm

I'll get the BP map and try to compare to something lol

EDIT: Here it is

This is just theory and must not be taken as "yeah he's saying that will be the thing" so I have this as a reference.
