Keyboard settings (a dumb question?)

Post by GoBe »

I think this is a dumb question but is there any way to change the keyboard settings on World? I find that I can't play for more than about 5 min without my hand getting painful cramps which effectively renders the game useless to me.

From memory, I don't think that there is a way to change the controls, but having not played in ages, your best bet to find anything of the sort would be in the options menu ingame. Personally, I find the arrow keys/alt or shift/1,2,3,4 pretty good for World, as I use that combination for all NFS games more or less, so maybe you just need to learn to adapt to the layout, and you'll get more comfortable.

Otherwise, you could try a gamepad or wheel (if they are supported).

It is not possible to change the controls yet. I don't understand why we can't configure the game how we want, it was released 6 months ago and those options are still grayed out in the menu.

Wheels are supported, more or less. I was able to play with mine, but the game is too arcade to use a wheel properly. And since you cannot configure it, the power-ups and other controls are just randomly assigned to the buttons of the wheel.

Yeah obviously it's not a game best suited to a wheel, but I have a G27 and I don't think it's supported by World.

But back to the point at hand, you'd think something as basic as controller configuration should've been included in the initial release of the game, it's a vital but elementary section of all modern PC games.

But I stress the word should've, this is EA.

Maybe this link could be of some use to those of you looking for supported wheels and controllers in World.
