Help with underground in windows XP...!

HELP ME

I don't know what to do...

I have installed my copy of NFS-Underground, but when i run the game, my screen goes black, and after 3 seconds it returns to my desktop..

I've downloaded the demo too... same problem.

My best buddy has the same problem...

I have tried downloading the patch too, but it dosn't change anything...

I have a AMD athlon XP 1800+
GeForce4 Ti4200 m.128 RAM
786 MB DDR RAM
and soundblaster live, something, don't know what my soundcard is called...

I hope some of you out there can help me....

It looks like half of the people who try NFSU can't get it to work. The best advice we can give you is install the patch, update all your drivers and DirectX. Hopefully EA will find a solution soon.

Yeah..

I'm having the same problems... again.

I thought it was fixed, and it was for a while, after updating video drivers. But it's started up again.

Athlon XP 2400+
Shuttle KT266 mobo
GeForce FX5200 128M
256 MB DDR
On-board Crsytal Audio
Win XP Pro

I sure hope EA can find a fix for all of us unlucky souls.

after much trawling round the web i read a few interesting posts which all seem to say the same thing

nvidia detonator drivers previously to 46.xx can cause issues with nfsu

so i went to guru3d com and downloaded the forceware drivers 53.03 and hey presto , it works fine

(but.... i installed the same drivers on a friends tnt2 and it corrupts the textures....but thats a tnt2 issue)

also my firewall which hangs the game because the "allow nfsu to connect to the internet" window is behind the title screen. so enable it access first !

Just have to get the file, i'm at my school, and I can't download the file there... I have to wait untill i get home... But trust me! I'll try as soonest I come home...

I've tried that thing you said, it's didn't work... Then I read at BOOMTOWN.dk that if i should get that problem, I should change the language to danish...

But thanks anyway...
