A Word on Down/UpVoting & Public Humiliation Thread

Post by Sp3aK »

Don't worry, I'll make this quick and rather simple to.

DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT

Basically, there is no way to successfully up/down vote. It is possible for you to use a completely different computer from the one at your house to attempt this, but we have a very detailed voting system which allows us to view votes via IP, username, specific car, and the # in which the cars are Rated(1-10).

What I'm trying to say is that any way you try, we'll find you. Even if you just use a username to give yourself a 10 and only that username, we'll prolly delete that vote just because you only voted on one car. Even if you vote all 3's on a car, that's downvoting and we'll find it.

In the past 2 competitons I've found 3(maybe its 4), people TRYING to downvote, all of them had their votes and cars removed and are/will be banned from the forums+site.

One last thing is this: Your going to spend hours trying to sneak around the voting system so that you can get ahead of everyone else or try and shoot everyone down with a 1, but it takes us a matter of minutes to find out who you are, and clear ALL of your votes from the site, that's chellenges and the public showroom.

We are paying attention, so really you don't even have to PM or email us about downvoting because we are constantly checking. Also, just because someone gives you a 1 doesn't mean they are downvoting, we can judge based on votes if a person is or isn't downvoting, so leave that up to us to decide.

If you notice anyone doing such things or know a friend that is doing this, tell him that his ass is mine cuz I'm the boogie man and I will find you.

From manufacture competition rules:
Rules wrote:Voting is open to all. Anybody can vote on your car, in guest, user or both. Own voting is not allowed. Note that it's best if you vote for all other entrant's cars. Any missing entrant votes are automatically counted as a 10.
WTF?? :?

btw:
Bojan wrote: the definition of downvoting.

Downvoting is when somebody votes all cars a very low score (below 3) for the purpose of improving their car's standings.
The same goes for upvoting.
And both practices are forbidden and will be punished by having user's car removed from the competition.

I advise you all to stop sending me pms about the 1 ratings your car has received. Voting 1s is not forbidden.

:d yes very nice.

iglaaa - Yeah you can give someone a 1, I'm not saying that's forbidden or anything, it's when you do all 1's.

Maybe you should read what I said again.

I caught him in Manufacturer challenge, and I would bet he used 4-5 usernames. I wrote a comment in his entry page (now removed) and inside a forum thread.
When he noticed I caught him, he send me several PM shouting at me and saying "Dani you suspect everybody".... finally I felt bad and said him sorry!!!

I saw another person that said that he hated Chemicalcode's RSX but the second lowest vote was still a 7.

Just noticed that he didn't vote. Sounds like a good policy. If you are going to be suspected of downvoting, don't vote.

Hi! Where can I post complaints on "downvoting"? Some guy named "yeop" ran through my NFSU2 garage and gave every car a 1 rating (I suspect that "yeop" also did that to the guest ratings as well). My cars have an average vote of eight, until he passed by.

"yeop" didn't leave a comment as well for giving those ratings, so it got really suspicious from there. I understand that you can rate somebody rock bottom consistently, but in this case it's weird and ridiculous. Made me think that he's some sort of racist or something.

Thanks!

By the way, here are the cars in my garage as of this date:
