Full weather effects are said to be implemented. I believe it to be a demo issue.

I was wondering why it is sooooo freakin hard to control the cars? I basically can't race with the Supra. Every time I go around the corner, the back end will kick out and i'll spin around, not unless i go like 30mph around it. And then I'll have to leave it in 4th gear because if you go into 1st and hit the gas then you'll spinout. I mean that's great if you want to sit there and burn the hell out of the tires, but I sorta want to race :(

I'm not sure if this is realistic or what, but I have to use one of the celica's if I actually want to race.

I find all that to be a big turnoff :( I know I can drive, I've played alll sorts of racing games. Why is this one so different?

Because this one isn't just looks ... you actually need to use your brains to play this game ;) that's why it sux for so many people ;).
Sp3aK, we're many succeeding in playing this game, even at a very competitive level. It's all about touch and practise. Trust me, give it a go, spend an hour getting confident with the throttle on the Supra, and you won't regret it.

Summ wrote:Depends on your tastes. It is ... VERY difficult to pull off very good times in this game. Most average five seconds slower than record. The Supra is a beast and wheelspins and makes donuts if you don't mind your driving, unlike NFSU. This really puts you in the driver's seat, but you must be ready to jump in there, and not just expect everything to go just fine. If you like tension, a real sensation of a car under you and actually sweating when trying to cut the edge, this game's for you. If you like realistic graphics and accurate car models and handling profiles ... this game's for you. If you like licensed parts and full control of modding your ride .... this game is for you ;).
the main thing in my taste is prolly tuning and designing the rides. racing is the most part no matter how bad i am i wont give up on the game and one more thing? do you get the other races like drags coz i love dragging :-)

there are 5 gamemodes, drag is called Sprint here. Then there's circuit, From A to B, a sort of showoff mode, comparable to drift, and a last one I don't remember. The cool thing about this game is mainly the crew thing. I love the RPG idea of having a crew of "wingmen" you can control indirectly by giving them orders, like ... hold that one back .. and such. Online goes with crews as well. Car customization is gonna be sweet in this game. The whole idea of having full colour range to pick from and having X,Y coordinates is fascinating. You can colour your car as crazily as you wish. 100% your own. Pearlescent or metallic, you choose how much it shines or what other colour/colours to have underneath and shine through. YOU, not a premade pearlescent colour like NFSU. Rideheight and Rim size is adjustable and customizable. Again, no premade levels. Parts are licensed and photorealistic. Trust me. If it's customization that does it for you, this game will satisfy you.

Add degree of realism and everone starts complaining. :D Nah, if you drove NFSU it doesn't mean you can drive. I consider Juiced to be a fun game with a touch of realism because of controls. BUt they could have included 'driving' aids, like for steering to make it progressive and for braking - braking is what I don't like in juiced - it stops in a second. HOpefully I can mod that when I have the game.

But really, with keyboard this game isn't really good. It should be nice with a wheel. I actually tried RBR today for the first time and I crashed after 30 meters. And kept crashing and crashing. I don't think you can drive m8. Looksl ike Juiced in some parts uses real world physics laws and that's refreshing. If it's a turnoff - well... NFSU is for you, cuz that one will let you drive regardless of your skill!

...

So because I'm not that good at this game that means I can't drive? That's a firetruck stupid way of looking at things. I can drive in real life, extremly well actually. So shouldnt a game be childs play?

Beyond that I believe I stated that I have played other simulation games before. Mostly NASCAR games(which are realistic before any of you dumbasses(not you urQ <3 :)) decide to say its not), A motorcycle racing game called MOTO RACER and an F1 game by EA.

Now I will consider the fact that I'm using keys and not a wheel, I do have a wheel down stairs(it's super old though), so I'm not sure it would help much. I'm not going to go to great lengths to play one game... Go out and buy a new wheel and pedals for like $50-$80(Im not up on prices so thats a guess), plus the $40 to buy the game? Not worth it to me.

I was playing some more and I do like the sort of damage modes and what not that you can get to, but I want to know why the kits don't just fly off... makes sense to me anyways if they are going to program the damn game to have the kit jiggle and shake in the wind if you ram into a wall again and 160 your kit is way the hell gone.

Anyone that claims I can't drive can shove it up their ass.

:)

Ok, I'm just saying that regardless of what you think about your driving skills, at 19 you are not a good driver, it's a fact. But that you are better than an average jo shmo - well, why not, with your dad having a car business you probably were exposed a little earlier than many to cars and had a change to drive a few. But unless you went to racing schools, and do stuff like track racing, I can harldy imagine you are good when it will matter. But don't take it as an insult - I just know a few people who are professional racing and rally drivers, and when I can compare myself to them ... Well, let's just say I am very careful to call myself good at driving, even though my friends say I am. :)

Back to Juiced - Bumpers fall off, I saw it in their demo video. So good news for you there. :)

SPEAK TONE DOWN....

JEEZ have you ever heard of jokes... or is everybody your F*CKING enamy...

GET a LIFE

You act worse then the average cop on steroids!

nobody said you could not drive in real life cause we don't know if you can or not...
and driving in real life is something completely difirent from a game... and driving in real life isn't also even close to racing in real life... that you can drive... does not directly mean you can race... think about. it...

And is s a GAME for crying out loud!

Stig ... didn't you know the world is against speak? ;)

As long as you aren't sitting in a box wabbling with you inside and simulating the G's, having screens all over the place and such, it will always be a game, and not too close to the real thing. Thus the ability to drive in real life does not relate to being able to press some arrow keys or not ... That said, you can still be an F1 pilot and SUCK at Juiced, does that sound fair? it's pixels for goodness sake!
None says you shall buy a racing wheel .. hell nobody even told you to play the damned thing! Quit your frustration! What we're saying, is that it's easy enough once you get used to it. Get used to it or don't ... who gives? Up to you. Being a mod, you should think twice before calling people dumbasses. Considering the example you give, I understand this place is a mess!

Until dumbasses becomes a moderated word I'm gonna use it in the proper context.

And being a mod I do know what I can and can't say thx for telling me how to do my job.

And it is a fact that the whole world is against me I read it in a book.

@UrQ: So bumpers come off in the full game? Or is it possible in the demo too? Cuz I beat on my Supra for a solid 10 minutes, lost neon, n2o, turbo, and steering, as well as messed up bodykits and scratches covering the whole car(even the roof, yeah someone ran over me).

Being a mod, one should expect you could find out of moderating your own language yourself, and not need others to tell you what to say. Review your context and see if your use of the word is justified. If you feel like throwing insults, do it in private instead of giving the bad example and encourage swearing. You're a mod, you're supposed to act adult. You say you're 19 ... act so.

Seeing your attitude, I wonder if you know what being a mod comports ... surely it's not calling people names when they try being helpful.

Perhaps that book can also tell you why ...

For UrQ (He's not God, you know, you can talk to us others as well) if you watched the videos on gamespot.com, you would see front and rear bumpers fall off. In the original, leaked demo, that happened too. As none of us have the final version, it's a bit hard to say for ANY of us, whether parts do fly off or not, you know ;). Personally, I don't think they will. Dates tell me that it was in the schedule to have parts falling off, but things have changed, if it isn't in the final demo. I might be wrong, of course. There's only one way of knowing ... having patience.

I dont know, im 100% sure parts will fall off, once it's in a game, in the code - no point to take it out. they don't want toshoot themselves in the foot. So I think we'll see stuff falling off. I btw, didn't manage to knock anything off even in the pre-released demo. So I think the final game will have that. It can just be a part of 'realistic' funtction tha's 'OFF" in the demo.
