Monsterous RX-7... Nice setup but a bit powerful.

Post by Sweeper »

This is what I would call a monster machine, or to be more exact, monster rotary...
pushes 668.8 HP at 6175 RPM could go higher, but there is a problem with the injectors.
The injectors were being pushed out from the pressure and airflow of the manifold.
And that is just a low 13 Psi of boost...

And to be honest this is the most monsterous street car I have ever seen.
Well for those of you who really wanna have a little closer look at this car:

There it is pics of the engine bay which is rather sweet.
and a pic of the dyno sheet when they ran into the injector trouble.

Here is a video of the RX-7 on the road, I just wonder how he got the nerve though, it is wet and he can go sideways by accelerating in 4th gear on dry tarmac, I don't wanna know how it goes in the wet.

Here is just a story he told of bagging a Viper.

My final comment would be: "This is one sick RX-7"

Sweet mother of god that rx7 is sick! Nice find sweeper! That man has done a great job tuning his rx7. It's very rare to find a tuned rx7 like this in in Australia.

For 33k you can have a Supra tuned to 1200bhp. its not expensive to tune Supras to ridiculous numbers, hence why theyre known as 'dyno queens'. Rotaries on the other hand are fairly expensive, and power gains can be difficult from the 13B REW powerplant.
*sig removed for being too big. limitations are 550x120px & 50kb*

Supras have more parts because they are very well know in the tuning industry. Companies such as Greddy and HKS tend to think "Hey everyone loves the Supra! More Parts for it = more money! w00t!". Since the rx7 is a rotary many ppl tend to not like tuning it because a) It's too damned expensive, b)They dont know diddly squat about rotaries and c) It's cheaper to mod normal engined cars to high bhp ratings.
