I need to know something... EA CLEARLY stated that it'll be a free-roaming environment... But what the heck is the stupid red arrows guiding us for? Image

Could it be possibly enabled ONLY DURING Circuit Races & Sprint Races, so we won't be lost heading to the chequered flag? AND could it disappear when we are doing a FREE-RUN mode? Because all the Outrun Mode videos I've seen, I never spotted the red arrows.... Image

It's fairly simple Andre.

During free-roam and outrun, there are NO red arrows.

During a circuit or sprint race, there ARE red arrows.

Get it?

yeh about the red arrows, i woudnt mind if they werent there, i think it may feel better having to know what your doing instead of bouncing off invisable walls - they could always have those little lights that vanish once you drive over them (the one you see in the videos)

But the point is the invisible walls, not the red arrows themselves!!!

I complain about that, I want to drive in an open city. Specially if in sprints (from point A to B) you should be FREE to take the way YOU want. If you are in a closed A-to-B way it isnt challenging. You neednt to use your brain and decide quickly which way is the best to take, the shorter, the easier...

It is ok to have the invisible walls/red arrows system in circuits, but not in point-to-point events. Which is your opinion??

Yeah! that is a great idea! I agree with u on that point.
The red arrow walls are kinda overdone if you ask me, there's just no way of not looking at it

I don't even think there is a sprint mode. On all the previews I've read there isn't even a sprint mode. Which is a real shame, since I liked sprint.

Yes, hopefully that's the way they make the game. You can't complain because you don't know for sure the arrows will be in sprint and not just in circuit.
Yeah, the bug in Underground where your wheels are Underground (haha, get it) is annoying. They better fix it.

Yeah because I have seen a video where a car is going from A to B in a closed way. I remember it was a Pontiac GTO video. Search in IGN. it is called Sprint_broll_BIG or smth similar. about 19mb.

I think the arrow will come in handy.. The streets aren't just ''squares''. They go everywhere. The arrow points out in the fastest way.

You're right, my bad. Anyway, maybe they'll change it, or they'll have some with arrows and some without.

Ok I'm getting rather sick of all this BS about bugs and what not from U2. Also U1 disucssion is NOT FOR THIS THREAD.

So here is a couple simple questions you can ask yourself in relation to bugs in U2:

1- Is the game completed and released yet?
Answer: NO, so how can you expect it to be perfect?

2- Is there a single game you can show me, with solid proof, that has absolutely no flaws or bugs?
Answer: No.

So there you go. I'm sick of page after page of people saying the same crap about some beta screenshots. Nothing is perfect, nothing will ever be perfect, and don't expect something to be perfect if it isn't even done yet.

well said spe3ak, very well said

but back on the arrows, PSZeTa said they will point out the fast way, well yeah they probably will however, it would be so much more fun if you could choose your own route, it would be a huge reward to people who know the city well - you know explore here; drive there in free-roam, then when race day comes you'll win, and wait at the finish line while others are stuck in the maze

Or it might just be the direction you have to go, not the corners you have to take.

yep you can't drive acros the arrows...it is a wall... see some movies on IGN.

it would be better if you could go passed it and turn back... out of free will... will cost you major time and if you taka a other route on circuit get a penalty.. (if you would make a HUGE shortcut for instance... not if you go to wide... it would only cost you time big....

the free sprint would be cool... but on the other hand... a nice route can be cool also.... they should have made 2 versions... free race to the other side of the city. and a fixed route. wich YOU choose... (point to point edited in the map... (get what I mean...)

Great find man!
The races will now take place in stadium-style tracks as in the original NFSU, as well as on normal tracks throughout the city, which include the dreaded traffic.
Drifting in the city? Cool.
