Try my tip on keeping your oponents behind you and if they come near passing you push them, get in their way, or anything you can to slow them down to catch up if they pass you. I push them to other cars or posts, and when I can I just get in their way when they get too close, just look back and block their way along the whole race and if you're lucky with just a few tries you'll be able to win :)

yes, pushing into the walls is the fastest way. Or at intersections - so that they hit the corner - this may completely knock them out, and they won't restart. I love when that happens.
Oh, and it's completely justified tactic, since they do it as well.

yup! brakin' is the magic behind winnin' and whn ever u loose a racetry to keep up with the opponents and watch how they play .... they always tend to brake at turns ... theres ur chance ... if ur good experienced enough wuith the game ... u'll get it ...(well it took me 4 days to finish tht race ... and i almost broke my keyboard) ...
btw try to use eclipse ... if ur ok with it
(n ya like Grez-Rotary_WRX_Killer said ... computer aint ur friend .. speciallly whn ur runnin Windows OS :) )

Well, I had difficulties with that race too...
The opponents seem to be 'cheating' the race out.....
There's a few times when I pushed them into obstacles, I thought I will be winning cause they are so far behind.....
Then suddenly, out of nowhere suddenly they are getting faster & faster..... and that's how I lost that race so many times..... (d*mn those 'cheating' computers...)
Oh..., & did I mention that I used the fully tuned skyline for that race.....??

Yes, that happens xXx. But it's that Catch up mode switched on.
To prove this try to get stuck by like 6 seconds, and than race after them. You'll soo see that 6 sec shrink to 3-2 sec defference. I am serious. Try it, and you'll understand that it's that catch mode working for you. Switch it off - and things may be different.
BTW, this worked for me always, but it may have been coinsedence.

YuP, the catch up funktion makes it easier for you to catch up, but it also makes it easier for the computer to catch up to you. .. .

Just finished my second profile, did that race on a first go - with a Lancer. Lancer got an awesome acceleration.
