I liked nfs 1 on my 486 DX33. nfs 2 was so slow, damn we had to wait for the SE version to be able to play. That was ages ago. Are you still playing them?
Oh! Maybe you mean nfs Underground 1 and nfs Underground 2, did you?
I prefer NFS Porsche, by far. It's the kind of game where I can sit in front of my wheel and drive as slow as i would do in reality, driving on one side of the road, passing only where I can be sure there's no traffic in front of me. I lost this feeling in both underground games.
@Admins : perhaps this topic would be better in general discusion forum?

I prefer NFSU1. I hate the boring free roam of NFSU2, the drag races are even more crap than the original, URL sucks the fat one, the AI cheat even worse than in NFSU1 (the difficulty level goes from weewee easy on Easy to lose it in the last 10 seconds every fecking race on Medium).
In a word, NFSU2 is a major disappointment - I still play NFSU1 frequently, but I can't see 2 having the same longevity for me.

I tried U1 lately... but Don't like it anymore... now I'm used to the new sounds and everything and I love the Free roaming...
careerplay is boring in U2 (storyline... or better NO storyline)
cars look better in U2... just check the engine bay and compare!
ok a lot of ugly parts where added... but also nice ones ---> some spoilers I really like and rims..
simply MORE cars and better cars. (and some for europe they added the 2 most DULL cars.... the idiotic 106 (AKA granny car!) and the corsa...exected better european cars here...
It is not as good as when NFS U1 came out... it was mind blowing at first... and U2 is actually more like the version it should have been as NFS u1... and NFS U2 should have had alot more the become as mind blowing as NFS U1 was when it came out...
and in that it failed...
but that doesn't make it lesser then U1
EA did listen to us A BIT, they added some things we all mentioned (like REPLAY, more euro cars) but they could have listened a bit better... cause there is still alot to improve!!!

Maybe they're planning other ideas into *cough* U3 *cough*, so that they can earn more money. Cheapskate EA...TheStig wrote:EA did listen to us A BIT, they added some things we all mentioned (like REPLAY, more euro cars) but they could have listened a bit better... cause there is still alot to improve!!!

Hahahahahahhahha, don't bet on it. Als long as the Underground series sell enough copy's, EA isn't going to change sh*t. Why should they? If the money keeps rolling in, why change?
NFSU 1 was cool because it was kinda the first game that took the street tuning scene as base for a game.
NFSU 2 should have been the game that was NFSU 1 but better on all points. But sadly its to easy, not much new stuff to toy around with, and a selection off cars, which seem to be focussed on missing the good cars and giving the crap cars. (not all but there a few)

I rather nfsu1 but its not bettr than nfsu2 overall, interms of storyline, race track layout and replay value, nfsu1 rules, but otherwise compared to nfsu2 it doesn't, nfsu2 had better graphics, better cars, more body kits, more vynils, the new rain, replay and free roam feature. Overall sound is way more realistic is nfsu2 and the car handling though still arcade like is better than nfsu1. So i think nfsu2 is better but i rather nfsu1 for its replay value. So it all depends what angle u look at it from, replay value or overall features.
Im not sure about that.TheStig wrote:that is if you want to race the full 100%
but you can CHOOSE wich race first and so on... and if you don't want to do the full 100% you can finish the game almost without doing for instance Street X races
and it is almost NONE LINEAR
i.e. I love Drift and hate circuit... but guess what? In the Stats screen (once finished the game) it says:
Events played:
Circuit: 24
URL: 24
Drift: 25
Drag: 22
Street X: 23
Yes you can choose: "Now Im going to drift. Now Im going to do an Outrun... etc "
But sooner or later you have to enter in every racing modes. That is my feeling and there are the results.
Guys please check your stats and tell us I want to know if Im the only one wh ohad to race in every modes a similar amount of times
