Dusty PC

Anyone knows how to 'clean' the PC hardware..??
Cause my PC is always open so it's really, really dusty inside..
Any suggestions..??

I use a "spray bottle" of compressed out, which is specifically designed for dusting off electronics. If you use a similar product be sure to have your computer turned off while doing it, since blowing out compressed air can produce ice/moisture momentarily.

dont use the vacuum, i did this and wrecked my fan, use a small paint brush, with no paint on it obviously, and brush the dust up and collect it with the vacuum extension, dont go hell mell at it with the vacuum itself. it takes a fair few minutes but it works,
either that or take your pc to pieces and dust em off seperatly.

If you're gonna pull it apart, then make sure that you 'ground' yourself, or you could fry your parts with static electricity.

And if you're going to use a vaccuum cleaner, then it's probably better to put on reverse (so it blows instead of sucking).

I also have an open PC and when it gets really dusty I just use a bottle of compressed air to get rid of the dust. but be sure to not breath in when you blow the dust out of the PC cause you might inhale some dust and that might not be good.

A small spray bottle, about 15 cm tall..Something called DustOff where I life. Doesn't cost much either. Specifically intented for use on electronic devices. Comes with a narrow straw-like pipe through which you can accurately target the airflow.

I use Airlines to blow out the dust from my pc's. So if you have access to a workshop that uses airguns or whatever, rather than connecting an airgun connect either a blower or whatever they are called, or a straight through connection, be warned though, there is a lot of presure

Takes 2 minutes compared to two hours stripping it down and cleaning every bit , and bingo....

chance are if you hit a fragile component you'll rip it to bits, i out the vacuum on my fan and it span it the wrong way, firetruck all the motor up, not an expensive repair,only about 3 quid, if you cant find a compressed air product then just brush it off with a small brush.
