The GTI 2.0 has 136 bhp, just to point itDarrenR21373 wrote:Bojan - the Peugeot 206 GTI DOES exist (at least it does in the UK).
It comes in 2 versions - the standard 2.0i 16v GTI (0-62mph 8.3 secs, top speed 130mph, approx 140BHP) and GTI 180 (0-62mph 7.4 secs top speed 140mph, erm, 180BHP)
Btw, I would bring the 106 (I love it) and the RX-8

Didn't check that, I looked at some euro peugeot sites and they all only have the S16 (99kW, 8.9 0-100) and the RC.ViperJay wrote:Bojan - the Peugeot 206 GTI DOES exist (at least it does in the UK).

Anyway too bad the GTI looks like an XR (with the black plastic around). Except the rims of course.

I would take the mitsubishi eclipse GSX without a doubt. It's been my favorite car for years. I don't even mind if they give me the same eclipse i have in my garage http://www.nfsunlimited.net/underground ... w/?id=5354

a 106 as choice from all of those cars... that is madness... common the 106 is a old little tuna can... it is uncomfortable, noisy, not at pretty sight....
does it have anything going?
for me... a 206?? nah already driving a 2.0 litr 206 (OK a diesel but he it is a 206
)
a celica.... well it is almost in front of my door (still looking for the right one for the right price...) so that one is not a omplete dreamcar.
I think I will go for a Supra. a classic sportscar with nice amouth of power good size engine 2 turbo's and all the comfort you want in your car...

I guess if we're talking a car we would have from the game in real life, I would go for the Vauxhall Monaro VXR - it's like the Pontiac GTO, just a lot better IMHO (set up for UK roads, i.e. twisty and fun, not US roads, i.e. straight with a bend every 100 miles or so!)
Failing that, I've seen a lovely black RX8 with body kit for sale in Sussex - shame it's £28,000 though!

Vauxhall Monaro and Pontiac Gto same car different badges wouldn't have either of them IMHO...DarrenR21373 wrote:I guess if we're talking a car we would have from the game in real life, I would go for the Vauxhall Monaro VXR - it's like the Pontiac GTO, just a lot better IMHO (set up for UK roads, i.e. twisty and fun, not US roads, i.e. straight with a bend every 100 miles or so!)

I'd have the Original the HOLDEN Monaro.... It's got the right badges and it's not a copy of a sister companies car.... Vauxhall and Pontiac saw the Monaro thought it would make an excellent coupe asked holden for it and Holden gave them it, it was Holdens design albeit with a Cevy corvette engine Just shows the yanks and the brits cant make a decent coupe anymore!!!
but i'd have the 600 BHP Supercharged version from New South Wales imported to my door...

The Vauxhall Monaro IS the Australian HOLDEN Monaro (as stated in Vauxhall's brochure) with a different badge (that's why it has the same front, not the GTO front). The VXR version is the tuned version of the Holden car.
Also, us and the Australians drive on the same side of the road and the same side of the car, therefore it would make sense for us to have the same model. It's been rebadged, I think, because otherwise hardly anyone in the UK would have heard of Holden.
However, I do agree it is a shame that us Brits can no longer make a coupe. We used to make great affordable coupes, now, as far as I'm aware, we don't make any (except for the ultra expensive exotics like the Aston Martin DB9, etc. But those are a different league.) All we've done by stopping making coupes is give the market to the Celica and Hyundai Tiburon (or Coupe as it is known in the UK). My own old (1997) British coupe will leave a Tiburon V6 in its dust.

I am assuming because the grills are different you think the Pontiac GTO is different from the Monaro... i hate to break it to you but it's not mate, it's the same car different grillDarrenR21373 wrote:The Vauxhall Monaro IS the Australian HOLDEN Monaro (as stated in Vauxhall's brochure) with a different badge (that's why it has the same front, not the GTO front). Both Engines are very similar, The GTO Is a Front mounted 5.7 lt push rod v8 which puts out 261 kw @ 5200 rpm, Whereas the holden monaro puts out 236 kw.
Im not a fan of holdens, but i like the look of the aussie monaro that the american GTO...

Astra coupe 888? We dont really make coupes anymore because we dont really have a motor industry anymore.DarrenR21373 wrote:However, I do agree it is a shame that us Brits can no longer make a coupe.
The market was theirs for the taking. By producing cars at lower costs, particularly with concerns to labour, they could generate more revenue. This meant that faster cars could be produced for the same money as an average car here in the UK.All we've done by stopping making coupes is give the market to the Celica and Hyundai Tiburon (or Coupe as it is known in the UK). I disagree with the last part. Im not disputing that a Calibra 4x4 turbo (if that is indeed the model of car you own) will beat a Tiburon. I just think its a little bit of an unfair comparison. Hyundais produce budget sports cars, so its like comparing your car to an MGF.
Stock, an RS13 200sx is faster than the Calibra. They can also be picked up for less than 1500. After a quick scan on autotrader, theres a 4x4 turbo selling for 3500. For the 2k in change, the RS13 could be pushing nearly 300bhp. (Probably more likely to be around the 280 mark if the car is set up with the extra boost in mind). That said car will then run low 13s/ high 12s according to a performance calculator.
Dont knock the Japanese coupes just because theyre more efficient and for the most part faster than the cars we once produced.
