turbo/super charge
is it possible to super charge and turbo charge one engine?

YES.
I'd like you to name an engine that can't be modified for turbocharging and supercharging.
That's right, you can't.
Here is an example of a supercharged and turbocharged Skyline engine:

basically people do this to minimize the turbo lag, nowadays superchargers comes with a electronic clutch thing, the pulley of the supercharger can be dis-engage by electronic components. As you all know that turbine need to receive exhaust gas to spool up to a functional or optimal state. this is where the supercharger do the air compression during turbo lag. when it reaches enough exhaust gas to spool the turbine, the supercharger will dis-engage and let the turbo take over.
Its a great idea thoerytically, but i dunno how well this sort of system works practically.
*supercharger driven by crank pulley, almost instant effectiveness but with lower efficientcy (less than 70%) due to massive mechanical components (pulleys, belt, the supercharger itself)
*turbocharger running alot higher efficientcy (up to 90% or more), you will get more boost easily than superchargers, cons are turbo lag, maintainence (example: turbine lubrican fluid, refurbish turbine), heat dissipate (the turbine may run more than 100K rpm, and the exhaust gas from the combustion chamber of highly compressed air).

How are these mounted according to the intake on the engine?MarlboroMan wrote:basically people do this to minimize the turbo lag, nowadays superchargers comes with a electronic clutch thing, the pulley of the supercharger can be dis-engage by electronic components. It sounds like an interresting technique anybody got a diagram over the intake, intercooler, turbo and superchargers that shows how they are mounted? the pic of that Supercharged turbo RB26DETT is a bit hard to make out.

So there is nothing else between it? It is controlled electronically all the way?
I was unsure, it looked like it was mounted like that but I was a bit unsure as I couldn't see the whole intake manifold and all the pipes.
Thanks anyways boganbusman for clearifying that, helped a lot
I would love to have a closer look at the electronics used to control it though (funny sideeffect from being an electronics engineer.)

well if you really want a diagram about it look closely at the same picture, at the background behind the engine, theres are some of them.
if you really want it so bad here is a rough sketch by me.
the pictures with red pipe...
(left) - most probably when turbo lag, the valve on the supercharger is opened.
(right) - when turbo is fully function, seems like that the valve of the supercharger is closed.
