Should I get nfsu1?
Should I get nfsu1?
Im getting kind of bored of nfsu2 so im thinking I might pick up the first. My freind says the graphics are actually better in the first plus it has the Integra! So should I spend 20$ on it? Is it worth it? Thnx.

If you can find it cheap somewhere, by all means get it. It is a very good game. Graphics are indeed slightly better (on PC atleast, more detailed car/crowd models where you'll notice it first). The tuning options are not as good, but not bad either. Racing is a bit more limited, no free roam naturally. Only closed tracks.
And a linear career mode. Races are always done in the same sequence.

Yep, I'm in overall agreement with the above.
NFSU1 was and still is an awesome game. Not sure I agree with the graphics being better though (at least not on my PC, as on a Radeon 9800Pro with 128MB RAM NFSU2 looks much better IMHO). Cars were slightly "blocky" when I played NFSU1 the other day.
Certain races were next to impossible (one 6 lapper I lost on the last lap 20 times on the trot before I discovered the secret - I won't spoil it for you though!)
And the best thing in NFSU1 that took a major step back in NFSU2 is that stupid Comic Strip bit. In NFSU1, there were proper 3D animated scenes between races.
And there was only 1 version, so everyone got the same cars (although I don't miss the Civic, I do miss the RSX and Integra).
Overall ratings: 9/10 NFSU1 7/10 NFSU2. I'd definitely purchase it if it's cheap enough (and, of course, I didn't already have it)!

Get it!
You will notice some cool things:
- A good storyline and videos.
- Semi-decent body parts
- Way better drag tracks
- Honda S2000 and Integra
- Better vinyls
There are some crappy things though:
- Less cars.
- Crappy sounds in comparison to nfsu2.
- Crappy tunnel in the customization menu.
- No free roaming.

i thought it was the 117th race. Anyways Im also had NFSU1 before NFSU2 but since I miss some cars and I dont want to beat the game soo quick (cuz im pro), i went back to nfsu1's career mode. 2 days past and im in the 24th event. Anyways get the NFSU 1. Its awesome. Fun too.
BTW: NFSU2 has some crap hecked up tracks for drag. A Drag is a straight line race to the finish. In NFSU 2, you have these friggin curved tracks. WTH!
Again. Get NFSU 1. Its fun

i like your rhinking flameking, a drift drag doesn't take place on a curvy highway, its on a staighaway. Anyone knows that! And another thing, like a car (like one from nfsu2) could ride those bumps on some of the airport races, you would bottom out and high center and screw up yur side skirts so fast!

i really dont think so, the races in nfsu2 are more fun due to better tracks except nfsu1 had some jumps. we have more cars, tuning, a MUCH BETTER CLEANED UP INTERFACE, more efficient graphics outta the same engine and even smoother controller options.
nfsu2 has been tweaked. but for career mode it feels pretty bland and unchallenging. otherwise for strictly racing and customization this game trumps nfsu1.
