lancer evo IX

Post by BiGBrOwNPimpsta »

who saw the pics?

the classic nose is back which i think is more popular among some ppl, but the front bumper looks weak. overall looks pretty much the same dont know abotu the back, but the evo VII has evolution written on the back which was cool.

if someone has the pic from the mag post it

It lost its nasty taillights at least, which can only be seen as a plus.

the lost the nose which mitsu is putting on all cars, personally i liked it but its not a big deal. but i was expecting something a little more radically different but if we do that then people start bitching that its too different and ugly

Rear is better, front is worse . . . imo.

What exactly is the power figure?

A step closer to the 2nd gen Evo's like the Evo 4.
But personally, I have never been a fan of the Evo 7 and beyond.
I prefer the 6 to 4.

It does. The aerodynamics are improved, and if correct, a slight power increase.

It will be powered by the new MIVEC engine Mitsu produced, and will continue on to the Evo X.
The front is worse IMO, I liked the 8's nose. The rear is ok, I kinda like the 8's better aswell.

Gilles Panizzi, Mitsu's WRC driver, said the handling of this car felt much like the rally counterpart, and it feels better on the road than the 8.

As for power figures, some say it will be 281, and some say it will be little over the 300 HP range. The MIVEC engine is basicly just the 4g63 with different cams that will support more torque at the low RPMs to counter the turbo lag.
It will also offer a 6 speed transmission.

Oh, and BTW, here is the concept art for the Evo X. (bottom right)

the reason why you hear difirent power figures is simple...

did the EVO 8 come with one engine config?? no
there are difirent version for sale. the standard EVO HP dunno exact 280?

the EVO VIII MR FQ wich has 300 BHP if I am not mistaken
the EVO VIII MR FQ330 is logically has 330 BHP
and the originally named EVO VIII MR FQ400 and guess what NP count it has...

you got it 400 BHP!

so expect something like that on a IX

The 9 is gonna be the 8's MR. There is not gonna be a IX MR.
They're putting all additions to the MR from the 8, to the 9.

Because it's a kick ass track that you can kill yourself on, unlike most race tracks out there.

the fact that you can kill yourself there (wich sometimes happens there cause they are most of the time idiotic amateurs who can't drive) is not a reason to test it there

it is because it is a long track with all kinds of corners and it isn't a track as in a normal F1 or Nascar track. it is more real road like, with un even spots and stuff like that

The Nurburgring is an ultimate test for the car.

And still a month to go, and we can take a drive on it too with GT4. :P
