350, Skyline, RX8, etc.. Let's beat those 240s

Title was a little misleading but since the game came out I have been messing with suspension, aero, gearing, etc.. To try to find the car that will whoop on the 240. I managed to get a 350z gearing setup to 21.4 on bayview bridge.. I am looking for some good setups for these cars. I know it is possible because I see people do it very rare but they do it. Ihave a pretty good skyline setup but it is such a pain to launch if you do not get it perfect your are left with a 24 or so. So would anyone mind sharing some setups with me.. The ranked races have become too boring now with no car to compete against the 240sx and I wish to make one. If you have setups for any of those cars 350z, skyline, rx8, audi tt that would allow me to keep up with the 240 on launch please share them. I will repay the favor with all setups I have come up with thus far for all cars.. Maybe you have better luck launching the skyline but I cannot get the sucker to stick. If I do it will run a high 21 or so.. So please dont be afraid, it is not like we are going to steal the 240 thunder because 240 racers will always be just that 240 racers nothing more nothing less. I think a collaboration is needed to help find setups (especially gearing) for cars that can beat it on bayview. 21 second cars on bayview are great as long as they are not the 240, I just feel it is cheap to race with an kinda pointless. I really am looking for an RX8 setup or perhaps a better skyline but I think the skyline setup I have now is about as best as you can get it, if you can get the perfect 1st gear launch. This is for multiplayer on the xbox with drag and bayview bridge track in mind btw.

Yeah I did check that thread. Pretty basic info that all of us that are trying to beat the 240 know. The ratios and the suspension are the biggest things and those without hard numbers are nada. No just changing final ratio will even slightly keep up with a 240sX in NFSU2 unless you tune it heavly.

It occurs to me that the weight of numbers is against you. Don't you think that if there's a better car for drag than the 240 that someone would have found it by now and everyone would be using it? I could be wrong I guess.. good luck with it.

Not about better than 240, about able to keep up with. See when I had the Z they jumped about half a car in 1st gear launch but then when I hit 2nd boom I was drafting them right on their bumper pulling 21a all the time.. Problem is I was always disqualified =)

I built a 240SX killer of a RX7 but not for the drag strip (Misses proper ECU tuning and turbo tuning as well as gear ratios, hell everything)
But it wouldn't have any problems eating 240's for breakfast on a Street X course or on a drift course at all.
The car has the 3rd gear as its main weapon on Street X.
Slam into 3rd gear and watch the 240's fly from in front of you to the back as you pass them.
It feels great, no wonder they call the RX7 the rotary rocket.
Though the setup is a bit "classified" at the moment pending further testing inside the team...

My personal record in Bayview Bridge is 20.60 in a RX7 and I keep getting beat by other RX7/8s in the RP clan. So if you take enough time to tweek and tune it is possible to make even the Mustang run 20ies. (BTW I've seen that too.)

the 240SX is one of the worst cars in the game how can you not beat one with a RX-7, RX-8, Skyline or 350Z? i can so easily beat a 240SX with my skyline

Online your Skyline wouldn't stand a chance against 3 240SX's with good drag racers in them.

ive raced u before, C8H10N4HO2O2, and i have not seen u get 20.60 with an rx7... and i beat team RP all the time and they do have a 20.3 sec rx7 that only gets it once in a blue moon... most of the time they are running like 21s, and i told them my technique... well some of it at least..

. , and an rx8 running 20s? only seen it once, never consistently....

Meh, I'm not gona chest thump, I play for fun. I hate the look of the 240SX I prefer the RX8. I got that 20.60 yes only once and if you don't take my word for it its on my stats page. (HERE)

We all have out bad, good and awesome days online in any type of race. I just play for fun and its not like the ranks mean anyting anyway, I can just lose like 7000 races and be Elite in drag online so why put so much effort in to it. Play for fun in the car you like and enjoy.

After all its just a game.

Eclipse GSX for win

Best all around, even in UG1 it was all-around car.

Good for drag, awesome for drift, cool for sprints/curcuits
