I'm no pro, but F1 cars get up to 340 k's and stuff, without taking off. But stock cars - even with biggest engines, it will eventually come down to aerodynamics, the forces on axles and so on - I doubt any of those cars can reach near 400km/h with those mods in the game - they are stock cars after all and aren't designed for that. I think 300km/h is a bit more realistic speed (which is VERY fast still). Most car's rev limiters are set at 255km/h or so... and no matter how good you people think the Civic is (esp the American coupe - lol) - it's chasis won't swollow the powertrain/gearbox/etc. to reach 400km/h - it will be undrivable and take off, potentially.

i've downloaded before, on kazaa, clips and images of cars with engines tuned to reach over 1000BHP. quite insane. there was this video i downloaded of a car, i think it's an Audi TT, speeding through a tunnel at speeds in excess of 200MPH. they measured the speed using a radar gun. you can also download videos of illegal street races. quite interesting.
Oh and exonn, about the max speed thing:
it's all about the average speed. to reach such high max speeds, we conserve the nitrous till the 6th gear before purging it. This means that the high speeds, of say 390kmh, are only hit at the very end of the stretch, so it effectively has little efferct on the time as before that the car was relatively slow. The people who go for timing would use the Nitrous throughout the acceleration period to accelerate quicker. This means the average speed of the car throughout the run is greater. (Time Taken)=(Total Distance)/(Average Speed). Think 'bout it.

Ok last night I was playing Drag and I got my Pug 206 up to 185mph (296kph for the Americans
), well I was thinking surely that aint possible!
I mean the 'normal' Pug GTi has 138bhp and the new GTi 180 (just released) has, as the name would suggest, 180bhp, plus 152lb ft of torque and revs to 7300rpm with a top speed of 137mph. So carrying 19" rims, and a all the weight of the bigger bumpers and engine mods this got 185mph!
I doubt that the Peugeot 206 WRC can go that fast, and that thing has 300bhp+ (I think?!). It would be good to know how much bhp my car produces in NFS...
hey there's an idea for a someone to create a patch

don't count out the 206 WRC since it all 'depends on set up'. With a longer gearbox, and downforce set ups that car (or any top WRC car) can give a fight to many supercars. On a rally catalunja, a twisty stage with one long straight WRC cars reached around 220km/h - but that was with a set up geared towards twisty tarmac stages. Given a straight line... Well, a Hyundai WRC equialled 911 in a straight line shoot out (and they were the only WRC make to participate - others declined!).

A f**kin' Hyundai whooped a damn Porsche 911
OMG!! I bet Porsche were mad...or was it a shiznit version of a 911?! I bet tho if Porsche put their minds to it they could come up with something that would destroy that Korean piece of crap! The Hyundai Coupe is nice, but not Porsche nice. I cant remember the exact name (think its 'BBR') but if they got hold of a Porsche it wouldnt even be worth bringing Hyundai bringing a car!

Ok, ok, maybe 'shiznit' was too strong. What I meant was was it a 'Carrera Coupe' or '4S', or something mad like a 'GT3'? There isnt such a thing as a shiznit 911, but maybe one that isnt as good as others. That was my point, sorry if I wasnt very clear.pacodog wrote:'shiznit version of 911" - name one!
Although there is such a thing as a shiznit Porsche....Boxster anyone?

ill agree with that, its for people who cant afford 911's. U were talking bout tuning earlier, I know of a Mk4 toyota supra that is at 1150bhp (engine can support 1300bhp, so theres still potential), its 0-60 has been measured at 2.6 seconds, and its top speed at 250mph (400kmh). Its a road car too, so its not running slicks or anything...best sleeper ive ever seen

Boxter is not a 911 - read my quote!!!
But I knew what you meant. My point was that even the Carrera coupe can't be shiznit! I think it was 911Turbo. I will check for you. All I remeber it was done during rally Cyprus last year.
But a shiznit porsche - no that has to be the 914, but we are getting off topic here!

A Toyota Supra stock engine CAN cope with up to 1300bhp? Or the particular engine for that car can cope with that much? Jesus...I knew some people went OTT with moddifing, but 250mph is mad. One tiny pebble/stone at that speed or a small gust of wind and its bye-bye Supra. If its 0-60 is 2.6 seconds that must be 1st gear
Normally I dont really think 0-60 times mean much as manufacturers test them in a controlled environment. But 2.6 secs is firetruck' mad. The quickest acceleration I've ever seen was by a Westerfield (or was it Caterham) and I think it had the awesome 1300cc Hayabusa engine and it got to 60mph in 3.4secs
I agree on the Boxster, I cant stand the shape, it looks the same driving forwards as it does in reverse. It was a car that Porsche could sell to people who cant afford a Porsche so they can 'think they're cool'. Dont even get me started on the firetruck' Audi TT. Lets stay on[ topic.
Rant over
P.S. Whats a 'sleeper'?

yea, i said its for people who cant afford a 911, i.e its a second rate car. and lets be fair, the porsche 924 is the shiznit porsche, it doesnt even have a porsche engine. Treadstone - the engine is modified to cope with the horsepower. Apart from that, quickest 0-60 ive seen is official world record holder, a Tiger car (basically a lotus 7) with twin hayabusa engines. And a sleeper is a car that looks stock, but goes very fast
