Nvidia Fx 5200 or ATI 9250

Post by ez4u2nv »

Both are 128 MB. Are these good video cards. I want something that is good and something that when i play a game i can set the graphics better than normal. If you don't like these then list one that you do. Also tell me why you like or don't like these. I'm looking at spending between 75 and 150 US dollars. One last thing, I know this has been discussed but for the sake of this thread which company is better: ATI or Nvidia?
Thanks for your comments and opinions.

I already have onboard video w/ (96 MB

PC Specs are as follows
Motherboard is: GIGABYTE GA-8IG1000 Pro-G
Intel P4 3.0LE GHZ 1.0 MB of L2 cache
512 MB of RAM (2x256) 400Mhz /w hyperthreading enabled (memory runs at Dual Channel)
800 Mhz FSB (Front Side Bus)
80 GB HD

Both suck. You won't get far with them. Save a little and take a 6600 GT.

And believe me, both companies are good. It's just that competitive models sometimes differ a little much, like core and memory speeds.

Because the 6600GT is way faster. It's not all about numbers. *shrugs*

So why wouldn't you get a 256, or is that just too expensive?? Another possibility is the the 6600 GT is just about as good a 256 right??

128Mb 6600GT pwns 256Mb 6600GT

Basically all the 128Mb low/medium level gfx cards beat their respective 256Mb versions. It is pure marketing, they go slow with that amount of memory

256Mb is good in high level gfx cards (Ati X800/850, Gforce 6800series)
