I am thinking of buying a PS2 slimline just for GT4 and that is all...

rest I got a PC where the PS2 can't compete with with the same games...

so my vote still goes to the PC... cause for me it is the ultimate multimedia machine! the PS2 will be a thing at the side... cause I love the looks of GT4 but sadly can't play it... so I have to get my first SONY apliance in house...

so I'm getting the slimline version... cause IMO the classic one is UGLY :P and don't get me started on the XBOX...it a hugely UGLY machine... (OK GC is even worse...)

I love my xbox. I know that the ps2 has more games but the xbox has great visuals and one of the best online gaming system known to man and woman(just kidding  ) But really it has my two favorite games, forza, and of course the best halo2

I played Halo on my PC, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't all that i mean it was probably the most repetitve game i have every played (except NFSU2), with the same corridor over and over again, boy that was sure annoying, i heard halo 2 isn't all what it's cracked up to be either. But yeah, the Xbox is a far better system than the PS2, but at the end of the day it's about the games..... and the PS2 has them alright, but the PC has even more..........

Don't buy one untill the new version comes out in a few months because the current version sucks. Reason after 2hours of gaming you will BURN the motherboard 2. Press the opendisk button alot and the lit(klep in dutch) will FLY OFF into your room. 3. You can't put a HDD for HDD related games like Final Fantasy 11 online.

On-topic: PS2 Because i got HDD LOADER some people my know what it is.

Return it to Sony.

And hell, asking me which I like better, a PS2, XBox or PC?

PC, because it can pretty much do everything.

But Sony rules at gaming.

PC all the way for me... Although there are more games for the console platforms, none beats PC games. 1 simple reason why I don't quite like consoles is because of all the long cables. Makes the place messy, and I find them to be quite a hassle. With PC, cables are always placed behind, and they'll never be un-plugged out any sooner, 'cos you ain't gonna plug everything out after you shut down your PC, are you? ;)

My ps2 cables are not messy as long as u handle it properly...and to be honest i don't like PC games because of system requirements.if u don't have it u have to update the computer or buy new grapichics card which needs money and consoles like Ps2 or Xbox have their own graphics card and maybe network adapter..i already have in my ps2.!...the other reason is if ur file is deleted u have to re-install the game..more problem and what about the adware, spyware or Virus..!

Has anyone ever thought about cost?

PC's cost heaps more than a PS2 or Xbox.

I'd had to vote 4 ps2. There are some games that will never be beaten, like FF, GT4 or MGS3

I think it's horses for courses. The PC has fantastic graphics and can blow most consoles out of the water. The drawback of this is that you WILL need a fairly modern system to play games one. I can play most games in 1280x1024 with all settings on max and a healthy dose of AA & AF.

I find PC gaming kinda lonely if you see what I mean. Sure you can play online and across networks and stuff, but there's nothing like plugging 4 contollers in and getting thrashed by your mates...

Although the XBox is the most powerful of the current consoles, it suffers from not having enough top class titles available IMO. Mine is going up for sale!

Then there's the humble Gamecube. It's cheap and quite powerful too, which make it a good choice. It's also got the Resident Evil games. RE4 is a joy to behold.

The PS2 has loads of games available for it which makes it the ideal choice. Sure it doesn't have the best graphics nowadays but who really cares anyway? I just want good games.

As for paras779's comment. Well yes....

Right now i use the PC more then any of my consoles. This is purely for playing games, not counting internet and other activities.I just have one thing to add.

In my view the current best looking PC games are Half Life 2/Doom 3/Far Cry.Now look at the neccesary specs that are required to play these games on the max setting. You will pretty much need the latest hardware.

The PS2 runs on a 250 Mhz chip accompanied with other low end hardware but the games look close to todays PC games, even though the hardware is 5 years old.Soon(as in next year) the PS3 is beign released with specs that top well over todays high end hardware. We are talking about 4+ Ghz chips and gfx card that are one generation ahead of todays best gfx cards + the games will all be in High Definition. The PC is history(gfx wise). If they could make the games look good on 5 year old hardware imagine what we will be seeing with the next-gen harware. Here's a small teaser:

So why don't game developers tweak the pants off PC games then? They push the consoles so far you can almost hear them creaking, but you have to upgrade your PC to play the newer titles...

It's a conspiracy I tell you.....

Well that's what they said about the Dreamcast, it was the PC killer for the games market.... PC based systems have always been around for the games sector, but have always been in the background. From the commodore 64's to the Amiga, and so on.

Although the PS3 seems like it is developing an impressive machine in terms of spec, so is the humble PC. Lets not forget the future developments of the 64-bit CPU, the SLI- thingy graphics card (two graphics cards).... this year and the following next 2-3 years, we are gonna see major developments, for pretty much all consoles, and PCs, can't wait to see what the future has install...
