I wouldn't get S754. S939 is what AMD focuses on, and it has the dual channel function. And I really doubt about your power supply. That price for 550W? I don't believe it. I bet it gives a lot less then the ''promised'' 550W.
Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Premium (At least, if and when it comes out) Price: ? (Deluxe = 160 Euros)
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+. Price: 200 Euros)
Memory: Any 2x 512 sticks, PC4000 or higher. Price: Around 350 Euros.
HDD: What you prefer and current usage. Recommended connection is Serial ATA.
Power Supply: Enermax NT 701AX W SFMA. Price: 200 Euros.
GPU: XFX GeForce 6800 Ultra x2. Price: 559 Euros x 2 = 1118 Euros.
Around 2200 Euros. Which is about 2850 Dollars?
For the case.. I recommend a big tower, with a good brand. Don't take a cheapass one.

Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. 185 Dollars.
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55. 840 Dollars.
Memory: Corsair TWINX Dual Channel 1024MB PC3200 Registered ECC Memory (2 x 512MB). 385 Dollars.
Power Supply: Enermax EG851AX-VH 660Watt 24-Pin Power Supply with Power Factor Correction. 250 Dollars.
GPU: XFX GeForce 6800 Ultra x2. 550 Dollars x 2 = 1100 Dollars.
2840 Dollars..
As for the case..

I have the same, only mine is silver and is made from aluminium. Those two are made from steel, therefore, twice as heavy. I think you should decide yourself about what case you want. The Xaser III from above has excellent cooling abilities, but is really heavy, unless you have the silver aluminium version.
Oh, and about the motherboard. Try finding out when the Premium version comes. The Deluxe version has a real irritating chipset cooler, that is going to rattle after a month. The premium version is using a different kind of cooler.

Damn! Do you think he is millonaire?? If he is, then OK, but that is an awesome waste of money.PSZeTa wrote:Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. 185 Dollars.

1st: to spend 840dollars in a CPU is a crime (in some months that same processor will cost half its today's price). AMD A64 3600+, or even 3400+ will work, and cost 3times less.
2nd: 2x 6800Ultra???? Yeah that card is awesome, but 1 is enough. You can play the best games at 1600x1200 everything ON at 120fps........... SLI = waste of money ( a single 6800Ultra works better than 2 6600GT in SLI... so a single Gforce 7th generation card will work better than 2 6800GT in SLI if you are looking to the future)
3rd: The Memory slot I recommended is cheaper and will work better (1x1gb >>> 2x512Mb)
4th: what about monitor, mouse, keyboard, sound system, CD/DVD readers/writers, LAN/modems, etc.??? He would spend 4000$
And now the good things you said:
1st: Thermaltake cases are good. Get one of them!!
2nd: That power supply sounds superb!! Get it!
Well I just have posted my own point of view, which can be wrong.
1.Do you think the FX-55 is new? That thing is pretty old, and the price has never gone down in that time.^Sparco^ wrote:Damn! Do you think he is millonaire?? If he is, then OK, but that is an awesome waste of money.PSZeTa wrote:Motherboard: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. 185 Dollars.

2. You won't be getting near 60 fps with 1600x1200. I'm barely getting 45 fps with my 6800 GT. When the 7 series come out, it doesn't say the first model will be already extremely fast and will be better then 2 6800 Ultras. Is the 6200 better then my previous card, the FX5900 XT? No, not really. It's just that it has improvements and a newer core, that's it. And if you can pay 2 6600 GTs, you don't get those 2, you get the 6800 Ultra, so it's only a waste of money if you can get a faster model for the same price, which won't be released in a few months.
You are talking about looking to the future. You shouldn't when it comes to computer hardware. There will always be a faster model later on, so...
3. The memory slot you recommended is not better. Socket 939 and AMD 64 support Dual Channel, which means with 2 sticks, your memory transfer will be faster. You'll notice this when you start WinXP. My brother and I have about the same specs. My CPU is faster, his GPU is faster. I have 512 mb, he has 1gb. WinXP starts in about 5 seconds at his, mine takes 10.
4. Does he really needs those stuff? He has a computer now does he? + The A8N-SLI has 2 LAN sockets.

1. Well, the A8N-SLI Deluxe has a pretty piece of onboard sound. I find it great. It will fit, it has 4 PCI slots.
2. If you can put your RAM stick into the motherboard.. Just try it out with the new other ones together.
3. Yes, you can.
4. I don't know what you case you want. Try looking for a nice one there. About the parts, it depends on if they have it in stock. All parts fit together.
5. NFSU2 is really no problem. A piece of cake for this system. Animation Editing programs? Won't get in any trouble.
6. Don't worry. Everything is included with the motherboard box. From IDE cables to S-ATA, from the bridge connector and other goodies.
7. It should I guess. Shouldn't Windows be working with any PC?
8. Send me a couple of thousand dollars. Just messing with you.
If the ASUS videocard is better? No, it's the same. One difference though, the XFX has a slightly higher corespeed. So it's even faster.

the parts you have should work. and number 4. it just means that you will connect the power supply to the card for it to have enough juice to work.El1jonMC305 wrote:alright thanks alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im gunna print the info and have it ready when i have time to go to tigerdirect, i hope it's a huge difference from the comp i have now.
