DoR, I hope you weren't serious when you said that rap is crap. I can say the same thing for rock, because from what I have heard, rock is all in banging people's ears and getting them into some unknown states of conscience... But I won't say that rock is clock (:D) because I don't know what it offers, and I don't want to know, kthx?

First off all dimmu borgir music is dark metal not new age (sounds almost like death metal) And i am a slipknot fan and if you say that to fans on a concert you won't life the day to regret it(it's not a threat but based on real facts on stuff that happens on there concerts). But if you buy a music magazine slipknot is in the new age metal section ( oh and by the way slipknot has solo's in there songs so better look things up before telling stuff) And rock is on top off the poll with 19 vote's against 17

i hate all these kids that go to my school. they think theyre all cool by putting on chains and shiznit. it really pisses me off. and then it just really kills me when they assume i listen to slipknot or marylin manson. id never listen to those shiznit bands. they dont contain much talent. they have like 9 memebers?? theres bands that have 3 people and sound 8 times better. its hard to explain i guess. it just really pisses me offf that all these kids dress like a bunch of idiots. put chains on and color their hair. appearance doesnt matter much to me. but you can tell alot from it. i think its all about the music. but id say almost all underground shiznit is better than anything mainstream. this girl i know models for this website. http://www.firetruck.com shes the one with the colorful hair. heh. shes into shiznit music. shes good looking and all, but i think she tries to be this all mysterious goth person. its pathetic. and it also pisses me off how everyone thinks that rock is "satans music" or more to say metal. its more this new wave shiznit. but alot of the bands that arent so mainstream have good music and great lyrics. i hope i make sense. i can clarify some points if you dont understand it

It seems to me that people want to join a "club". That's why they all listen to the same sh**y music and all wear the same clothes. I mean come on guys - be yourselves.
I really think the R&B/Rap scene has become commercial and stale. It's just boring now. It all sounds the same to me. Yeah, maybe it's just my age but it's still stupid, borind commercial nonsense.
Having said that though, rock went through much the same phase a few years ago, and seemed to burn itself out. Maybe it was all that spandex..:lol. I think it's time the so called urbun music got a "kick up the bumbum", so to speak. It's just crying out for a new artist to come along and change it all. Otherwise it's in danger of going the same way....
EDIT: That's just my opinion BTW. No offence to anyone here....

I used to listen to those guys at the time, but somewhere along the way I just got bored with the whole scene.... It seems to me that it's all about money and image. Sort of "I'm better than you" lyrics. Now how can I put this GROW UP!Sir Ibi wrote:You've hit the nail right slap bang on the head there Stonebullet. You gotta listen to rappers like De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, now thats what i'm talking about....

Which band sounds better is upto ones tastes and open to general discusion, unlike what elitists such as macdaddy may lead you to belive. Though I'm not a big slipknot fan myself, I know their type of music and their huge number of fans who enjoy it greatly.
I personaly prefer Metallica and Nirvana nowdays. Though bands like Staind, Nickelback and the like are pretty good too.
And how would you classify Limp Bizkit? yes they have a couple of guitars and drums, but their lyrics (mostly) are very Rap/Hip Hop.

They have 9 member and they use instruments on all there songs and cid only ad a little extra effects in the songs. And cid is a DJ in his Slipknot off timemacdaddy wrote:new age metal, nu-metal, face facts. I know that slipknot has some technical songs, but really, why do they need 10 members, while more technical bands with half or less that number manage to sound better? And try to tell a real metal fan that DJ's are metal.
