Do lookout for the Ai in the Supercars challenge and in rally events.
I have retired from rally driving, or snow and dirt rally after seeing that the Ai got tarmac style grip while I got nearly none at all.
On Snow you can turn at 30 KPH and tailslide by the slightest movement and you don't stop sliding before a mile after.
VERY UNREALISTIC actually, I have been doing turns like that, no tailslide at all, maybe because I had spiked tires?
And the Ai, impossible to keep up, on the supercar challenge, I finally caught a Mercedes, Audi and a VW (W12 thingy) I had no chance if I were to take the corner normally.
I actually to crash myself a path up to the lead, crash the opponents into objects I find along my route, smashing them out on the grass is no go either, since they cheat on their grip, while you on the grass cannot turn unless you smash into the wall.
Sad but true, racing games and most games today have forgotten the fact how we normal players get fast.
We do not cheat like adding more power and super grip (EDDIE!!! NFSU 1)
We do not cheat on grip and handling (GT3 and some in GT4)
We do not cheat by making the opponents get weaker brakes and more weight resulting in understeer. (GT4!!!)
We drive by chosing a lot better line than the opponent, special brake points, now I would expect that an Ai could do the same without cheats.
But if you can handle some tailtapping and crashing to get the lead in the worst races and use wallriding you may stand a chance against those cheaters, they get more and more insane.
But overall, GT4 is not a bad game, if it was using the GT3 engine it would been godlike for drifters, may be because I haven't gotten the braking drift to work yet, for now Ebrake and feint and lift off are all I can do.
Gt3 may not been realistic, but it was fun tailsliding around corners that easily.
And GT2, hahaha, a game where grip driving was an art.
In my oppinion sepearting up the Muscle car cup alone unlike GT2 was a VERY BAD choice.
I really miss the opertunity in GT2 to take a japanese car and go and have fun with the old school muscle cars.
It was great fun back then, now you are forced into understeering heavy ugly looking boxes and have to race them just to get past it.
Nah, GT2 overall against GT4 was better apart from graphics, But then again, GT2 was a hard heavy weight that GT3 lost terrain due to low amount of cars, GT4 had the cars but lacked a lot more.
But the most annoying part with this game is and will allways be the cheating, me and a buddy looked over a few replays and it is so easy to spot, no wonder EA doesn't want you to look at the Ai cars driving in NFSU 2
Still GT4 is a great game, while GT3 had a few light moments, GT3 scores 6 out of 10 while GT4 is slightly better (Saved by the massive amount of cars, orginally earning 8 out of 10 but the cheating kills it) 7 out of 10.
GT2 still reigns in my book as the game in the GT series with highest fun rating in my book.
With modern graphics and up to date car lists it could have been even better.
I could probably written a LOOOONG post on AI cheating, but I decided not to, not now it is sad that it is happening that way these days...

Well I guess, my luck probably.
In NFSU I had the catchup logic seize up so that even when he was in front he was still cheating matching my speed...
As for funny moments, well easy money can also be found in "The Capri bank" Basically Special Conditions Easy Capri rally.
You win a Toyota RSC Rally Raid car worth 260k, sweet enough since you can crush them with some of the Japanese cheap cars
I guess I got to roll up my shots of my first car... In the photo thread.
I tried to find a blue Mazda RX7 Type RS 98 model.
But they were nowhere to be found sadly at that time, though I was orginally looking for a Volvo 240 (Got one now with 2xx horses turbo tuned, nice ride!)
Now I only got to knock out a bunch of non cheaters (Hopefully) and all I got left is the world cup, now I am thrilled to see what awaits me in there, but I am also shocked of the potential cheaters that may be there.

I also think the A.I in this game is fine. The only thing is doing a rally against another car, if you are behind them, then you cannot see a bloody thing, because there is so much dirt & crap covering your vision, that you steer into walls. lol. But for some reason, those A.I cars have an X-Ray vision
Also those 5 second penelty's can be abit unfair, especially when THEY smash into the front of your car, while taking a hairpin corner, causing you to get a penelty for doing nothing. And it really
's me, how they are uncapable of getting penelty's for making their own stupid mistakes.
Comparing the grip differences, between us, and the A.I, they are both pretty much the same. Just driving the right way, on the right racing line will give you the gold.

I did try to copy the Ai's rally driving, that was a no go, I slided too much to maintain his line even with the same speed.jacoja06 wrote:I also think the A.I in this game is fine. Sadly.
Yeah the penalty is sad it is not for the Ai, but on the bright side, if they had it too, he would been years behind with all his crashing
I like damage more though, would love to find AI cars in parts shattered all over the track.
Has anyone gotten the Slipstream battle with the Skyline GT-R yet?
The boys behind me are too slow to help me actually, and I cannot catch the guy in front
I am too fast in the corners to let those behind me come drafting past me to use them.
Naa, i still reckon you can have a go at some rally events. Try the 'Cathedral Rocks' rally course.... that one is awsome! Yeah, sure... you may make many mistakes at first, but after a while, you start to get the hang of things. So far, i've completed most of the rally events, and i'm getting stacks of cool cars, in return.EmptyWords wrote:yeah i hate that penatly thing. its quite impossible to do those rally races. im not even gonna try, thats probbably gonna be the lat thingi do. btw. jac i love your avatar :-d
I'm sure most of the rally cars are all of the same, but since my 3rd rally race, I have been using a 1995 celica rally car (the older one, with bits and peices hanging off it), and so far, it has whooped some major ass! Even though it has very much the same speed as all of the computer cars.
btw... If you're sliding all over the track, and smashing into barriers, just to keep up with the opposition, then check out the replay of the computer car. It will show you all of the stats, etc, so you know how to take the corners with eese
Thanks! Thats my $610 000 Merc, which I worked my ass off to get.lolEmptyWords wrote:btw. jac i love your avatar :-d
