My big ass PS2 problem

Post by Sir Ibi »

I just recently bought the PS2, with GT4, and the Hyper Street Fighter, but i have one major problem... There doesn't seem to be any possible way of connecting the console to my TV, as it really old, and doesn't have the euro thingy connectors or a scart thingy connector. Basically I have an old TV, that doesn't do much, accept to be able to watch the TV. So I was wondering if there was any possible way to connect the PS2 to my TFT monitor...

Someone please help...

Try buying a RF unit, this uses the socket on the back of your TV were your ariel connects, i dont think you cant connect it to a TFT. If you have a Camera, take pics and ill help you or.....Buy a new TV(one from the 21st century not the 19th)

no there is only socket at the back and that's the standard socket for the aerial, and it is an ancient steam powered TV, from the flintstones... i'm gonna by that RF unit now, see if that works...

When you got your PS2 did you get the Pwr cable and the scart or the Power Cable and the RFU Unit?

hehe, ye. But seriously you have no idea how that diagram looks so much like my actually TV, i had that TV since i was like 9 years old, and it still works, but doesn't have technological capabilities.

Tho, it'd be nice to be able to connect my TFT to the PS2, that'd be cool.

Or act like real geek-1337-gangsta (whatver that is) like me and buy a TV-tuner for yer' PC. Get to watch TV as well as play PS2 on your moniter then, and while your at it might as well start recording shows/movies in your free time.....

well i hooked up the PS2 to the VCR using the scart at the back of it, and it's all good... At the moment i'm playing the street fighter anniversiry edition, plan to buy some new games soon.

Wish List (soon to be reality):

*GT4
*TimeSplitters (the new one)
*Pro Evo 4

Any other recommendations, i want some multiplayer type games, like football/soccer, or shotting games, so i can have a banter with my mates....

Recommendations for Multiplayer: Mashed/Mashed Fully Loaded, Red Faction II, Ribbit King, Tetris Worlds, Worms 3D, any Timesplitters game. Beware, tho. Old multitaps will not fit into new ps2, due to the controller and memory card slots now being at different depths. i tried to adapt my multitap, with inevitably disastrous results (i.e. i still cant use it and the memory card socket is buggered). for this problem i would suggest buying a controller lead extender, and plugging the multitap into that, and putting your memory cards in their normal slots. dunno if that wud bugger the ps2 up tho......:D
