duel point system

Post by enzo.ph »

this is about the point system on duels. i've just lost a duel and it cost me 500+ points its almost worth 5 duel wins or a win on classic. if your rep is above 1000 then it says that if you lost a duel it will cost you 10% of your current rep points but its another story when your rep is 5000... is there a better way coz its not easy winning 5 duels and all the rep you've won is gone with just 1 lost. oh! well i guess the best way is to just keep on winning... its kinda hard.

You should have won that, and yeah the point loss is really annoying, high total should mean less for wins, not more for losses.

Yup - I keep losing and I've only got 200 and something points - I'll be back to zero soon!

I don't think you should lose points until you get to a certain level, say 1,000. This is really getting on my danglers so much, that I'm tempted not to enter any more duels.

And I think there should be points for coming 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th (like in Formula 1 motor racing) in Classic Challenges to give us less talented autmotive-designers more chance (since I've finished 2nd/3rd/4th a couple of times now, even though I think I should have won, of course  )

i hope the admin is looking at this coz losing 500+ points in 1 duel ain't fun... something should be done in the system IMO.

i wonder what happen to that duel of mine...

Both cars were good but I think yours was the better of the two and should have won. Maybe he PMd some people and asked them to vote for the duel in his favor. Ive had people pm to vote for them in thier duels but I dont.

Sorry people, reputation point system will not change.

Look at it from the other way: the person you lost to got 500 points ;)

ok...

fair enough but i still think its a bit harsh.

its really hard to sustain the top spot... and the way i'm losing most of my duels lately i'll be on the last spot not far from now. not to mention the people who wants to bring you down.

that's why after I went from 3500 to 1500 due to losing like 3 duels, I stopped bothering with these and don't accept anymore/don't make more cars into garage. you are right - it's way too punishing if you are on top. that's my opinion on it only, I don't ask for a change, just doesn't work for me.

i think the point is great the way it is, the more points you have the more points you'll loose. it also gives the other guys at the bottom a good chance to crawl upto the top. I mean i've got about 1400 points andit wud take me quite a while to catch upto the top spot if that guy had something like 5000 points with a more lenient point system.....

Yes, and enzo.ph doesn't have much troubles keeping himself on top, even with this "sharp" rep point system. It should stay as it is.

once you get to the top, and will lose some funny duel (a couple of times) and get 500 points off, you'll know what we were talking about. All the time you've spent to earn 1000 points, is wasted in 2 duels. It favours the lower ranked people, but why should it be done at the expense of higher ranked... like i said, you have to get there to understand.

It should be hard to stay on top. Otherwise this becomes a ladder system where the person who has been dueling the longest time always stays at top and new comers have no change. But I do agree loosing 500 points in one duel maybe a bit too harsh, perhaps there should be a max limit to it. Keep the percentage system, but only up to a point; maybe 300 pts (3:1 loose/win ratio at the top stop).

Couldn't have said it better. Besides, it adds a bit of challenge rather than the top spotters having an easy time getting to the top. If you're the best then you should be able to make good enough cars to stay the best regardless. Besides, it's all just a bit of fun. And people get bored when they realise theres absolutley no chance of hitting the top spot and leave.

Well maybe a comments should be mandetory in duels. that way you could see if someone is always voting for someone to lose or always voting someone to win.

Look, enzo, your cars rock and they are amazing. But it simply isn't fair for you to be on top constantly! Some other members also have great qualities, but it doesn't manifest the way it should!

i'm sure theres a lot more people here that deserves to be on top instead of me. i like the 2 spot better coz you don't get criticize as much though...

i just think that loosing 10% rep points in a single duel is a little bit harsh, and i'm not talking about this for my own sake but for all the members here. thats all.
