What is the ECU gold bar/ Turbo glitch? How do you do it?
I have been starting to play U2 online again and now everyone smokes me. I have a civic that does about 220 and a corolla that does about 222 with NOS. I still get killed by celica's and other corolla's. They all say they do the turbo/ ecu gold bar glitch but no one will tell me how to do it. They say their cars top off around 230-244. Could someone please explain to me how to do it? Thanks

I believe this has been asked here before but I couldnt find it so here it is from gamewinners.
This may only work in online and customization modes. First, do a dyno run on your car. Remember the hp and torque that your car currently has. Then, select the setting you wish to do this to and go to your ECU chip. Set the last tree bars (located all the way to the right) all the way up. Then, try to set the first two bars (located all the way to the left) equally in the middle. Next, go over to your Turbo settings and set the last four bars (located all the way to the right) all the way up. Then, for the rest of the bars that were not previously changed, set them down one time each. Do a dyno run and your hp and torque should rise significantly. You can still increase your hp even more by doing the following. Go to turbo and put all bars down one time in order from greatest to least, except the last four bars to the right. Go to dyno and your hp should have risen every time this has been done correctly.

I get the turbo part, but people say that your ecu goes gold? Do I do anything with the ecu after setting the bars to the right up? After I tune my turbo should I go do something more to my ecu? Like I did something this morning to where I barely have turbo but all my ECU is full on every bar but nothing is gold? Thanks

For U2, turbo tuning can be done withing the game. First just lower the left 2 or 3 ECU bars to max them out for high rpm. Do the same, but for the first 5 bars of the turbo bars. Then start a dyno run (you can abort it), go back to turbo tune and lower one or two of the first five bars, then another dyno tune, then another lowering of left bars on the turbo. You only gain about .1hp per cycle, sometimes none, and it takes about 150 to 200 cycles to complete it. Eventually you can get bars 1 through 5 down to their minimum. This increases power on the Corolla from 440.7 to 455.7, seems like a lot until you realize it's barely more than 3%.
You can't do the same with ECU tuning without a hack of some sort. Usually modiffying memory via a generic trainer, then saving a game. The ECU hack does more, about 14% more power, but overdo it and it's uselsess for drag.
I used to find a higher percentage of the players on the EU server using the ECU hack than the US server, but I don't play online anymore, so I don't know.

I was playing online and someone finally told me how to do the turbo glitch. First go to your turbo and reset it to default. Then put 7,8,9 up. Back out twice with the B button. DO NOT DYNO TUNE. Then go back in to the turbo, put 6,5,4,3,2,1 down one click in that order. Back out twice, but do NOT dyno tune. Keep doing this until 654321 have no more blue on them. Then dyno once. If you dyno while doing this it will decrease the horse power. My corolla has 456.9 HP rather then 440. It does help.
