New Preview and Video

Post by Skyline_man »

The german magazine GamePRO published an article and a video of Need for Speed Carbon. EA invited the european press last week to the Porsche-Center in Leipzig, Germany for an exclusive presentation of NFS Carbon.

In the preview Steve Anthony talks about the game and tells us that EA Blackbox is working on the controller for the Wii-Version. The innovative controller offers many possibilities, and either it will be used as a steering wheel or you can accelerate or brake by tilting the remote controller. And he says that the soundtrack will be a mix of electronic and hip hop.

The preview article might be useless if you don't speak german (you can use a translator though) but the video is quite interesting since it shows some more scenes of the game and the new Autosculpt-system.

hmmm, they're still as vague as ever on Autosculpt. this video shows the Evo with a different body kit, but are the three variations we've seen so far all a result of autosculpt? and the wheels are back again. the same type of wheels we saw on the Camaro during the EA Press release in the US. i hope this means we'll have aftermarket rims because putting the same rims on two different cars is just a little stupid of EA.

anyone else notice that speedbreaker and nitrous is disabled during canyon races? they might actually be a challenge now.

once again, the video shows that the real-world to ingame character transformations have been done next to flawlessly for Carbon.

ya, that was just a demo, so you can only autosculpt the parts that the demo has already applied.

Need for speed carbon appears in November this yearly for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, GameCube and Game Boy Advance.
where`s the PC vers?!

ok the drift handling totally sucked :? ... what was that handbraking thing?! are we in some kind of kids games? omg
the autosculpt thing, is still awesome .. looks to me that when playing on a console the car is setted on an fixed point, as we can see on the circuit race with the gallardo, but the situation changes when playing those canyon racing, that muscle car, could move to the left of the screen, or to the right ... don`t know what to think ..

It will be on PC also... EA themselfs told it only about 200 times orso...

Stop the whining when you don't see the PC in one list!
EA told it will be for PC so it will be for PC!

If this is the "Improved" drift mode that EA was going on about Its real disappointing. But then again its still early.

And maybe the person driving wasn't so good at it eh?? so it looks dull... he didn't even make 1 good drift... maybe he was filming and playing at the same time. who knows.

that drifting mode is terrible... they just count how much points during drifting, but not a "perfect" drifting?

i think u might be right

apparently other ppl have said that its alot more simplified this time round

ur suppose to let go of the gas, make the turn, and then floor the gas again to get the car sliding rather then just using the handbrake all the time

so ur basically tring to keep the car in control rather then forcing it to go sideways like in U2

i think its cool because it forces u to countersteer the car which looks alot cooler and a bit more realistic

besides if u look at the standings during the race, the players score was terrible compared to the other racers

sry i was repling to this thread

And maybe the person driving wasn't so good at it eh?? Wink so it looks dull... he didn't even make 1 good drift... maybe he was filming and playing at the same time. who knows.

No, if you looked clearly, you will find that the tank is not charged, which means its disabled/cant be used, unlike in circuit races.

exactly, thats wat i noticed, u cant use speedbreaker nor NOS as it looks disabled and grayed out as oppose to lighting bright in MW n in the other video w the Gallardo or the Evo doing the regular race. it could b more fun or realistic but mayb there is another drift mode but it could be more interesting.

hehe, you gotta love the new smileys...

i know there should be flames coming out of the exhaust during a nitrous injection, but why during shifting? i've always assumed that as some sort of bug with the games, but i guess i was wrong. anyone care to explain it to me?

Flames don't shoot out of the exhaust when you use N2O, that's just stupid Hollywood junk. Why would there be? If there's enough fuel leaking from the the engine to ignite in the exhaust pipe, then you're car really sucks.
