Help with SATA Hard Drive

Post by Carcrazy »

How do you get a SATA Hard drive to work. Windows XP cannot find it and neither can Windows Vista Setup. I have power cord and connecter cord plugged in and have also tried the Wester Didgital cord thing that comes with it that is not a normal SATA Cord. Please Help. Thx

Set it as slave... Usually your CD/DVD-ROM is Master. I think so... >_< My HD is set as slave and it works.

Try plugging in all things
-the SATA cord
-the IDE cord
-the Power cord

MIght work, might not... I can't check with my HD cause there's so much wires... -_-

Your BIOS must be configured to a RAID option (or if it supports it, a faux IDE). If you have one SATA hard drive, set your RAID option to RAID 0. Generally, you will need non-Windows drivers installed before Windows will detect the drive correctly.

Yup, just had to install the RAID drivers in Windows. (Go Vista!) Works great now... :P
