Why EA seems love this ideas.. NFS:MW Black Edition, NFS:C Collector Edition.. and IMO better for EA releases one version instead of the original version..

simply: EA wants more money, they think selling more "add-ons" they can obviously get more costumers and that leads to get more money

And also for some people it makes them feel special by having the "Special" or "Collector's Edition" of something like for example I think MCE is better than Pro because it has "special" apps or look to it (just a example)

totally agree there
