Underground 2, tuning cars...

Post by Soupa »

Hello!

I've got my hands on NFS: UG2, and so far I really like it! So many options, to customize (I like options! ^^).

Anyway, my prob is, that I don't know how to tune my car... I thought when I started playing that I only needed to dynamo my car to get it tuned, but I just found out that you needed to tune gear ratio, engine and stuff. My question is, how do I tune my car so it's always the best for the race I'm gonna do? I mean, I know I have to tweak with every aspects and stuff, but how can I be sure my car is optimized for the race I'm about to enter?

Thanks for the replies! ^^

Run through a setup, if it doesn't work go back and change something.

I know that... But if I dyno for let's say circuit, and then I want to do a drag, do I need to do something besides just dyno again?

Well, I'd like somebody to teach me how to tune it for each races I have to do (races of all kind), so I know how to do that stuff and don't need to bother people anymore with this kind of stuff, but if I remember correctly, I was about to do a Street X race...

every race setup have a different profile.
when you setup your 1st profile it's gonna apply on all of the categories.

in my opinion!

FOR DRIFT
full acceleration, power the early ratio of ecu and turbo, you can set your suspension to soft, and it's depend on you that how quickly you want to respond when you turn your ride with handling ratio!

FOR DRAG
less acceleration, default ECU, Default Turbo, Long NOS, quick handling(but it ain't gonna effect your handling i think)

FOR CIRCUIT
a medium acceleration would be a good choice. Quick NOS for a boost when you get stuck!

FOR Street X
full acceleration, Early ECU, Early Turbo, and you should change your brake bias to the rear, and try to tun your suspension in on the circuit(streetX) on the dyno

URL is not deferent from CIRCUIT! but because URL doesn't have any kinda long run you can boost your acceleration!

for drag you want to make it so that when you cross the finish line your car is about to blow up, and you want kind of quick nos and save it till you near the end of the drag strip.

And what about Aerodynamics? Any of you touch that, or do you normally leave it alone?

Hmm... How do I know that I've put aerodynamics at 100%?

I still haven't got a clue about mech. tuning. On another note, I've played and deblocked the Turbo now. Also, I'm wondering, I can get a new, free, car, which one should I took? In my game they told me twice that there was new stuff at the carlot, so should I still wait or get something now?
