White Dots?

Post by BKize_GT »

Ok, I have been playing ProStreet for a while and at first I didn't notice them, but now they bother me and I can't seem to get rid of them. Heres what they look like:

Image

I'm using NVIDIA 8800 GTS @ 1680x1050 resolution with ingame 8xAA (No forced AA), and all settings max.

NOTE: This also seems to happen in Carbon, but not any other NFS games.

Help?

I believe it's an artifact that results from a combination of AA and AF and possibly other things. I have it on my ATI card as well.

Any known way of getting rid of them? It really makes it hard to get good SR pictures.

I would suggest playing around with graphics settings. And do a google search as well, I'm pretty sure I've heard that this is a result of AA and AF, but I'm not sure.

Ok, they go away without AA, but then my graphics look like crap.

EDIT: This seems to only happen with 8800 nvidias and some ATis

Try turning Anisotropic Filtering off.
Also, try lowering your resolution. Some cards have max resolutions in which certain features will work.

AF off - No noticeable result

Lower Res - More dots, for sure

Hmm, no clue. I'll try fiddling around with some of the advanced settings of my card and see what I can come up with. This may just be some unfixable artifact.

Any luck? I get my 8800 GTs in January, I'll see if they have the same problem.
