Official "Will my computer play this game..." Thread
If you got a game you want but dont believe the back of the box post your specs and game.
I'll start off with world in conflict
The thing that puzzles me is the video card requirement of a 6600 GFX card.
My specs are:
1 Gb ram
2.7 ghz P4 CPU
BFG OC 6200(Factory Overclocked to 375 mhz but can go to 400 no problem)
I dont mind running the game on low settings, but will my computer still play it?

That site doesn't work for me anymore, it keeps saying 'unknown' also it has alot of games but some might not be on there so this thread will be good.

Re: Official "Will my computer play this game..." Thread
Yeh, you're computer will run it on low but could heat up since it ain't the exact card =D well that's my opinion because my mate had a 6200 LE or so and played " Call Of Duty 4 " on the lowest settings and resolution and his card just messed up

Explicit signature removed.

i play CoD 4 regularly
my card is factory overclocked to a 6600's core bus clock which is why i was confused.
EDIT: been playing world in conflict since the 12th. runs like a champ on low and very low settings. i only get lag when i use 3 nukes at once

-directx 10
- it's vista i know but if i put it into compatibility with xp service pack2, it works.

Word in conflict has a lot going on, it can be intensive... 7600GT is recommended, but it ain't that flash.

You CAN play Race Driver Grid on low details with a computer similar to mine. The Drift level i get good smooth FPS but in the ebay motors race you'll get low fps, but when you "look back" you'll get smooth fps. ATM im looking into the files for a little tweaking.

If your AV says it's a virus, it's probably a virus. Stay away from that site is my advice.
BTW thread stuck. Seems like a good idea tbh.

Forgot about this thread
With the same Specs in post #1 i can get smooth FPS in Fallout 3 on low to medium settings, and Play CoD 5 on low settings with the /seta_rendering 0 console tweak. Will hopefully pick up GTA 4 this weekend to test, but i can see that being a epic fail.

Re: Official "Will my computer play this game..." Thread
I didn't say you couldn't run it... have you even read the recommended system requirements?

Re: Official "Will my computer play this game..." Thread
I was actually thinking in terms of being GPU bottle necked ... but tbh the game is still playable on average settings, and is a very worth, especially if u havent played it on the consoles yet.

Well I don't know what sort of requirements it needs but would my lappy play all of the games in The Orange Box?
2.2GHz Dual-Core
2GB Ram
8400M GS 256MB GPU
Vista Home Premium
It can run Far Cry 2 on Minimal but it still lags....

I played all Orange Box games on medium to high on 1024x (widescreen resolution) on this laptop (hp 6820s)
HP 6820S KU473ES, 17", Core Duo/Dual Core, T2390/T2410, radeon x1350, 250GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Free DOS/Vista Home Basic

Re: Official "Will my computer play this game..." Thread
I think that will do fine, as those games are based off the steam engine ,which isnt that demanding anymore. 9550s did fine for source games even.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Well I don't know what sort of requirements it needs but would my lappy play all of the games in The Orange Box?

Tip for everybody: Avoid Nvidia's 8400 and 9400 series, you're better off with a 6600 even.
Same for the Radeon 4000 and 3000 series bellow 4600 and 3600.
