Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
That picture reminded me of Flatout. From the description, it seems the game is leaning more to Burnout's side. What's the point of having two franchises dealing with car derbies/destruction?
Everything in the description seemed fine and dandy until I got to the time-trial missions point. Weapons? Increase health points and reaction time? Wtf is this?!
I'm almost happy that this is not listed for PC.

Agreed. I'm feeling this NFS is going to suck again, hard. I think NFS is going the wrong way again.2furio wrote:That picture reminded me of Flatout. Oooo phew. I knew I had the impression it was fake even though EA would be crazy enough to do this and it is indeed fake. www.nfs-planet.de even confirmed so.
Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
If it was real, then the graphics would suck, the gameplay would suck, and what's with the weapons and crashing. Rollcage Stage II much.... (dunno if anyone but me here has heard of it)

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
NFS + Weapons + Character Health = Disaster unless extremely well executed.
EA really needs something to differentiate this game from the others in it's class, like Burnout. Otherwise it'll just end up being a sad and pathetic Burnout clone since it'll never live up to the Burnout proportions.
I kind of like the prize system of getting cars, but I'd much rather all cars be unlocked from the beginning and your ability to own them only be restricted by your cash (easier hex-editing, IMO). One thing that strikes me odd is the mention of Night Racing Cups. Does the word Night mean that we'll have daylight cycles? Or is it just some fancy thing EA thought up to entice us? And wth is the point behind doing impossible tricks in the air to get points? I mean, NFS has always been about doing things not possible in real life (eg, drive supercars), but extending it to the point where you're doing crazy and impossible tricks? EA goes too far, IMO. Not to mention the Fully Arcade physics doesn't sound very appealing to me at all, especially with a permanent damage model. I don't want a VW Golf to be able to beat a Bugatti, no matter how well the Golf is tuned.
I think this may just be the first NFS game I refuse to play. That's just sad.

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
Well, EA have implemented weird, unrealistic things before, like recharging N2O and slow-mo, so as outrageous as this fake news was, to some degree, I wouldn't be surprised if EA implemented some of these in future NFS games.

Actually, it almost sounded more like GTA than Burnout to me, but seeing as I have yet to play Paradise, I can't say much.

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
I wouldn't have minded playing a game like this. I love GTA, so a game like GTA with higher detailing on the vechicles and customization, and I would be set.

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
I'd much rather it be like Burnout, simply because if they tried to make it a GTA clone they'd f it up BIG TIME!!! Finally they may have bikes! Its a miracle! Speaking of Burnout when's the bike update coming?

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
Umm you could be talking about something else, if not then well that thing was confirmed fake so that means even the subject of bikes doesn't exist or anything... Speaking of bikes atm i think that if NFS had it with tuning/modding then it would be kinda like a Midnight club clone or something like it.Koenigsegg_Rox wrote:Finally they may have bikes! Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
I sure hope that was a fake screen and fake info. if that is really what they are doing, then im not buying undercover, and it will suck. I hope they don't make the game for old-gen consoles anymore, because all it has done is brought down the level of graphics and fps for the ps3, x360, and pc. please, make better graphics and fps, ea! bad graphics and framerate are two of the biggest things that led me to sell prostreet. the shadows under the car would flicker on and off, and the framerate was crappest.

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
EA should not make NFS into Burnout or GTA, or anything think that is not a racing game.
Cause that is what NFS is a racing game, and they should stick with that.

Re: NFS Undercover First Screen and New Info!
NFS sre trying to copy others too much, and it'll fail. It was unique, that's what made the early ones so successful, as well as the underground series. They really should revive underground, and make it a serious modifying culture game, like Juiced... but, Underground 2 was more fun.
