I don't see the spamming part...

If he wants to get some extra attention and give others the same opportunity, be free to do so.

But it would be nice if it was a general Ebay topic. (about your experiences etc.)

Well. I will go first. I bought my 97' Eclipse on Ebay. Like three weeks ago. It hasn't been the smoothest process but there are some nice cars on ebay. And I couldn't find s*** anywhere around me because I live in the most retarded state in the US. \:D/ But yeah. Both the seller and I had never sold/bought an item this big and for a larger sum of money, so we had some arguements, but it has worked out. Ebay is a great thing, I don't care what anyone says. Next (next being 4 or 5 years down the road) I will be buying a Supra (hopefully, beautiful....oh....) maybe even off of ebay again. [-o<

If my memory serves me right, I did some shopping on eBay 5-6 years ago. It was when my dad paid my rent (which he did the first 2-3 years after I moved out), so I bought a lot of foreign money for my collection. And if I remember correctly, I did some buying from an Estonian dude on eBay. :)

I've done a lot of buying on a Norwegian online auction tho. Used to buy mainly foreign money there as well, and after a few years with no buying at all, I've now started to buy cartoons (Donald Duck). Been ripped off twice tho, and I actually think it was the same person both times, just using different names... Fortunately not a lot of money, so it wasn't really a big deal, but since it usual to pay in advance on that site, it's a thing that can happen. It's always an option to have it sent more safely, but that costs a bit more, and then it's not always worth it, so I usually don't...

$4k for shipping... wouldn't it have been easier to just buy a plane ticket to whereever the seller is, and then just drive it to your house yourself? It would have been a major pain if you did, but you'd save $4k (for mods for the car )

If you're going to say "Wait, but he lives in Idaho and the seller lives in New York!": I know. It's only a five-day trip...

Nah, gas is still cheap over there. :P

According to Mapquest, it's about 2350 miles from ID to NY, so you'd probably spend a little more than what I did on my Norwegian 770 mile trip this summer, but I don't think you'd spend much more on that trip than me. Depends on how much gas the car uses, I got mine down to 6.7 liters on 10 km (1.77 gallons / 6.2137 miles, do your own maths) on the way home. I paid $9.81 for one gallon of gas on that trip (was pretty cheap), so if the gas costs less than $3.30, your trip would be cheaper. :P

Now I need sleep, this was too many numbers for me after work. :P

Wow, just realized people were replying to my post. #-o

I didn't say it cost 4 grand to ship, it cost 1400 and it's just a lot less wear on the car. Idk...maybe I was just lazy too. :|

It was not about your post, you clearly said 1400 USD but it was a reply to this one:
